I did the 182 exhaust mani upgrade, and to be honest I will agree it probably makes no much difference on its own. But it will influence any other mods You've done or will do. After my CatCams 421 went in i did notice 10BHP increase near the red line, but after installing the exhaust mani it...
it's a nice upgrade, but You better off with V6 box (same box but 100mm single input, its 1/2 bigger in overal diameter)
as for gains i'll post some results shortly, since me and my mates will test few aftermarket solutions on rolling road (maxogen, v6 box with itg panel and few others)
From what I know .cal files are not encrypted in any way. All You need is basic map editing software like TunerPro to edit its content. Afcourse You need to know where and what to look for :) I'm not sure about the checksum thou. I guess it needs to be generated for the new file.
As I said it's not fully mapped yet. I hope to see a bit higher top end power and a bit more tidy RR graph after I hook up my Innovate LC-1 with RS Tuner ;)
hmm not true 421 work only after 5k range :) in my case 5k kick is not even there any more
My ph1 172 pulls like a train from low down (propablly because it copes with 182 exhaust manifold) and its not even fully mapped yet.
Both, mine and my mates stock 182 makes about the same top end power...
Remember, that small sport battery is mainly just for starting a car. Someone here tested this setup and it turned out in normal car it lasted about a year :/ And if You use the car only on weekends it may not even last a year. Not a good deal for that price.
Do a search, info is here somewhere.
I forgot to say it was made at 5 gear (maby thats why its nasty, slower more accurate) in 4th it spin up to fast and RR was interrupter at about 4k kick
