Oi thats not fair lol, you know what I mean. Im just saying that it doesnt resist going in without the clutch as it would with any of the other gears, at any revs.
It crunches what ever I do, any revs or speed of change.
I have now also noticed that I can put it into 2nd without the clutch. This produced the same amount of crunching noise as if I do use the clutch.
Could this still be the synchro ring or maybe a clutch problem?
And yeah, I can not even afford the £8.99 Haynes Manual from eBay
I need to save up money to fix my extremely mangled Clio (quoted at £9500 for repairs at a garage or about £1500 for parts DIY) and the synco ring on my Megane.
This sounds promising compared to my fear of having to get a new gearbox.
The gears used to crunch a little when rushing the gearbox but now it does it all the time at any speed or manner of use. I must admit I do rush the gearbox a lot, I've become addicted to 2nd gear wheelspins.
I will most...
I don't have enough money even for a Haynes manual right now so I'm just going to have to put up with driving everywhere without using 2nd gear lol.
Could I have mashed the gear cogs? My biggest fear is that I will need a new gearbox :S
This is worrying.
When going from any gear into 2nd, it crunches as I put the gear stick down into 2nd. This crunching can be long or short depending on how quickly I push the gear stick into gear.
I'm wondering if it could be an alignment thing. Maybe the alignment for 2nd gear is out of sync...
When you say, reshell it, do you mean the core shell or an entire car without an engine that I can transplant mine into?
I can easily find a basic shell without body work etc but that would mean transferring all bodywork and interior over.
It only cost me £5.5k in the first place, do you...
Yeah that's it. Good stuff, at least now I have a name for the damn thing, thanks :)
All I got to do now is replace it. I suppose I would need to take out the steering column and maybe even the dash board, prop the car up on stands and remove it.
Is it just one piece or does it run over the...
It could well be. Is the bulkhead the metal (behind carpet) that the clutch pedal may touch when fully pushed down to change gear?
The front wheel was pushed up into the cabin causing the accelerator pedal arm to be bent left. Does this sound like the bulkhead that has been dented in?
Can someone please help me?
Any ideas what the name is for the body part that is behind the front wheels and make up part of the arch? It seems to run accross to the other front wheel. I had a crash and the wheel got pushed up into it, cause it to dent quite far into the cabin by the pedals.
I'm in quite a bind, not sure whether this will work or not, or more to the point, kill me!
My smashed up Clio 1.6L Dynamique+ 3dr has new front discs, pads and tyres. While I get this car fixed I purchased a Megane 1.6L Sport Alize 2dr. The Megane is 20KG heavier than the Clio and has roughly...
Involved in an accident(pics below), my car has quite a bit of body damage as well as a broken driver side CV joint and wishbone. Airbags have been deployed which in turn cracked the front windscreen.
So far, from calling around, I have found an accident repairs specialist (used by many...
I've noticed this. The only ones I have seen, 3 so far, have not been Dynamique or Dynamique+.
Enjoy.
One less. Damn J reg Land Rover came around a blind corner in the middle of the road. I snaped her front right CV joint as she did with mine and bent her rear axle out by about 15...
