Turns out is wasn't :banghead:
All sounded good until I got half way to work, then I heard it again. It has however cured a slight wheel vibration/wobble I had which is nice lol.
Had it in to Renault today, they went out for a drive and said they could hear it. Got it on the ramp, and they...
Recently cleaned mine, it's a 172 but they're the same set up. A couple of people said to replace the seal as well, but unfortunately Renault no longer sell the seal separate to the TB. As long as you careful in taking the TB off once the four screws are removed your all good. I gave it a good...
I had similar issues with my old Clio 1.2. Had similar misfire issues, stalling/cutting out when first starting, not starting from warm etc.
Replaced a tonne of parts before I found it was a break in the wiring loom connections that go into the ECU at the back of the engine. I did what you did...
I'm in a similar boat with what sounds to be a similar noise. I've replaced pretty well everything like yourself, and still the noise persists.
The next thing I'm gonna have a good look at is the exhaust, see if anything has crept loose, but like you say, the noise appears to be coming from...
Managed to sort out the heat shield issue. Also took the throttle body off to give it a good clean. Will see what it's like on the way to work tomorrow.
On the way to work today it was horrible, I do roughly 10 miles of A roads 45-60 MPH, then around 3 miles of town driving, which it probably...
Thanks for the info, I'll see if I can get one from a breakers as mine appears to be missing.
However this wouldn't actually cause the car to stall/cut out in the first place? Any ideas what might be causing this when up to temp, it can be sitting in traffic for a couple of seconds then...
Thanks for the replies guys, top stuff (Y).
Was just wondering what sort of difference a heat shield would make? Also on the ICV front, spoke to Adam at Wolverhampton Renault, and confirmed it's part of the throttle body, as it doesn't have a cable like the PH1, makes sense I suppose. As that's...
Just had a quick look, and it doesn't appear to have one on it?
Also found this thread - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?561873-Where-is-the-icv - It's about the location of the ICV. Mine isn't where this one is in the piccy. Does anyone know where it is on the phase 2's...
Don't know if this might help too, but when it does cut out, when I restart, then have to sit in traffic again, it starts to rev itself slightly. I might give the ICV a clean too.
Anyone got any thoughts?
It cut out twice today on the way to work when not in gear but 'rolling' over speed bumps near work, was rather embarrassing :/
Good evening everyone.
Just a quick one. For diagnosing a noise I had on my 172, I took a complete strut off of a standard 182, and put it on my 172. It fits fine, and has the same amount of coils etc.
However I was just wondering if there is any difference in the set up, ride height...
Car transplants in Cheshire came me a quote on one yesterday, was only £15.00 all in. Might be worth seeing if there's something similar near you, or maybe give Ren-parts a try
