And my freshly sprayed bonnet badge, at least 10 coats gone in to it.

IMO that's making the entire bonnet rust.

I did it so the contours of the panel was the first to rust which gives it more of an older look rather than just someone coming along with an orbital sander and some 40grit (shhh).

If I had the nervous disposition to worry what people thought, I'd have changed cars for something good, or atleast removed all the keying and "what a cvnt" written down the drivers side.

And it didn't take very long to do, about an hour and a half all together.
