I'll do what ever is cheaper, tbh the iPhone tarrifs arent that bad any more, so being on it isn't exactly a bad thing, if the phone is £500 on PAYG, but only £90 on PAYM, then using the money from selling mine screams "buy out your contract and start another one"

You're contradicting yourself massively there lol

It'll be £90 on a £45 a month tariff

Sooo... sell yours for lets say £300 - and pay off 6 months remaining on contract
Then pay £90 for phone and 18x45 for contract = £900
OR add £200 to the £300 you have and buy on pay as you go + 6x45 for remainder of contract = £470 - and then after that you can chuck £10 a month on in top ups and save yourself a load of dosh

Also then when iPhone 5 comes out in 12 months - your not stuck in an 18 month contract again LOL


I suppose it depends if people use loads of texts and minutes - if so contract is the way forward. But I just use mine for data and you get unlimited free data on pay as you go now too

I'm due an upgrade this month from my iphone 3G but having looked at the tariffs I'd need to be on to just get a reconditioned 3GS I've given up on the idea of a 4 and decided to keep my 3G and swapped to the iphone simplicity 15 tariff for 12 months. There's nothing the S or 4 do that I need and the G is still a great smart phone.

Call Customer Services and select the 'Upgrades' option.

I've been due an early upgrade since April, it turns out. lol.

Is there usually a minimum time you have to have had your iphone contract to "upgrade" in the manner that 02 are talking of (i.e. I presume not the normal upgrade route like when you normally get a new handset)

Well they won't let you upgrade after a month or two.

In the last 6 months of an 18month contract. So the people who got a 3GS at launch, will be able to get a 4 at launch.

Meh, got a 3GS at launch.

When they lauch the 4, o2 will either let me upgrade, which I will do, or if they dont, I wont. I like the 4, but I aint paying uber moneys for it.

No prices yet mate.

I'm on a 'Friends and Family' rate. Technically, it's a £40pcm contract, but I get 30% off that.

They'll honour it for my new contract on the 4, too.

Just posted my 3GS to buyer, the money will be in the bank ready for 15th, for now I am back to iPhone 2G...ouch. Can not wait!!!

Just called 02 and they'll get a 16GB iPhone 4 to my door the day before the launch date, if it's possible. :approve:

If not, it'll be launch

There's no point calling o2, you're just wasting their time and yours. They even state that if you're calling about the iPhone 4 you should just register interest on the website as they have no further information as yet. The only thing poor people want to know are prices, and they don't have those, the rest of us don't care about that.

He said Gold customers, like I am, got their upgraded 3GS's two days before launch last year. lol.

He said he couldn't promise anything, but he told me about my account being due, and to register interest online. They then email you with a code that allows you to be first in the queue.

Win.

I'd f**king hate to work in a O2/Orange/Voda call centre over the next two weeks. The amount of ra-tards (if some of you people in this thread) are anything to go by that will be calling.
