What Sensor is this???

Checking the engine this morning and found I guess a sensor hooked in the air behind the clyinder head on the left and by checking it I found that it some how was exposed to very high temp. leading it to melt......the part no. written on it is 7700876108
here are a few pics



It's a D4F 1.2 Engine......any idea what sensor this is??

Going off this pic:

It looks like the fuel/gas vapour return pipe that goes to the carbon canister behind the right hand foglight.

its a supressor for the ignition coil. should be bolted on to the back of the engine , looks like there is a bolt missing from the coil as well. any recent work done ?
