True.

No need to say this, but looks absolutely stunning. Credit to your dedication.

Wince when I see mine ATM.

Cheers dude. Means a lot from you mate.

<3 Meet in Cheshire in the summer! ;)

Re: Winter Protection Detail - Gtechniq C1/FRP/ASW Content Ect...

Gaz?

Is yours parked in Ali's spunk bubble air chamber for the winter?

The 9 is locked away in the garage, couldn't bring myself to subject it to road salt/grit. Even if I'd have got round to having it thoroughly undersealed I'd still be gutted to see all the currently fresh looking running gear deteriorate to looking like it's been on the seabed within six months of winter use.

Getting your car that clean is hella gay, but it does look rather spangly!

OK, so I was planning on using C1 this weekend after a full P1 polish etc to get it 90% correction.

Now I'm unsure :( - sounds scary lol... even though Tim at Clean your car said it is hard to go wrong if you follow the simple steps off applying thin -> low pressure wipe -> buff.

Looks lovely, such a great colour when it's clean. Drove an Imperial Blue Escort Cosworth on Friday and even though it was cloudy, the colour still looked brilliant.

Its exhaust note sounds strangely like my old Pugsport on the Rallye! I was so close to buying one a few years ago, but went for the Trophy instead. Still think they're just one of those cars you have to have an experience of though, it's a very special car.

Well without practice I wouldn't apply it to someone elses car without practice but give it a go. Just remember you can't leave any residue. You can't go back an hour later and wipe any marks off where you've applied it it's set solid. I'm not trying to scare you I just don't want you to feck it up.

It is an amzing product.

The exhaust? The Escort or mine?

It'll give you some practice fixing the friction marks from taking it on and off! ;)

We were laughing about that at work yesterday actually, the young guy here has a Ibiza Cupra and a VTS with a pugsport sounds very rapsy. Doesn't quite have the same sound as mine under load and doesn't pop and crackle like mine much.

I have another drive by video somewhere. Poor sound quality though.

Needs raceland coilovers to finish it off.

Lovely colour though!

Epic detail. Wish I had the balls to attempt to use C1. Mind you, I wish I had the energy to actually prep mine for winter, it's filthy and in dire need of protecting :(

Paint looks gorgeous! Love the exhaust. Only way for a N/A exhaust to sound...nice and raspy.

You mean facepalmland coilovers?

Cheers though.

Cheers mate. The one in summer was a monster detail mate probably 12 hours pre css. This one was a bit easier as it had just been done recently.

Thanks again for the comments guys.

I think you hit the nail on the head about the exhaust. No big engine or big turbo so I suppose it's better than a Peco big bore making your ears bleed with droning. :)

Looks awesome that :)

In the video of the Porsche, it sounds incredibly harsh on the downshifts - is there nothing you can do with a sequential to soften the shifts? (Heal toe etc?)

Hows the engine after 100k? Using oil? Still pulling well?

SRS question.

Bloody hell! Wouldn't have guessed that!
Credit to you

Thanks dude. Much appreciated.

Feels tight as a drum. Hasn't used any oil since it's service in June and it gets serviced every 10k miles.

The pull imo is great, on cam above 4.5/5k roughly is really just like vtec it pulls fantastically well. I'm only hard on it on nice dry days tbh, it gets a good blast.

Most of the time it's never above 4k.

My Brother is a Ford master tech and my Dad was one for about 20 years so they are pretty religous about servicing and replacing things.

It's probably due 2 rear wheel bearings soon imo. Stick them on after New year.

That looks like an absolutely mint example of an FRP, love it. A rare sight on the road nowadays, i always have to have a second glance if i see one, as i think there one of the best looking road cars ever built.

What number is yours?

I used to own one, it still miss it now even though i sold it quite a while ago. I remenber being so anal about it, i spose i am about all my cars, i used to put so much time into it. I eventually got it to amatuer concours standard, it was number 354...number plate M100 FRP. I regrettably sold it but then a year later saw it pop up for sale and went to maybe buy it back...unfortunately it was in a bit of a sorry state and so i had to walk away... i was gutted to be honest.

Thanks mate, my one is 476 mate, funnily enough 467 is for sale at the moment on PH. Same last 3 letters on the reg aswell.

I really need to organise an FRP number plate or even an FMC one. Been looking at them for a while now.

don't know how I missed this. I'm very surprised at the depth of the paint for a sealant, more so than the car I saw C1 it on, a blue Mk5 R32.

Didn't realise Craig coming to London was for the GT job, will have to try and befriend him and get some training out of him!

Mate he would go out his way to help anyone. Just throw him a pm if he's close he'll love a chat especially about detailing.

One of the nicest blokes i've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Thanks for the comments mate. It's nearly the best it's ever looked and those were taken on a phone mostly.

Love the exhaust note, sounds nice and raspy! Don't think it sounds weak at all though it's not capturing it at it's best (coming down the revs in gear and letting it do the rest ;) )!

I've got that seat cover too, very good bit of kit!

what would you change it for? My LY Clio went on Sunday and I'm gutted. I've now got the Mrs Mk4 golf tdi and it's a state!

Looks like Craig is about an hour away so will see if he fancies meeting up.

Definitely should mate. He'll go out his way as I said.

Mini GP I think next mate. Just something I think ticks a lot of the boxes i'm looking for.

Things can change quickly though mate but that is the plan at the moment. Are you moving down to 1 car?

Re: Winter Protection Detail - Gtechniq C1/FRP/ASW Content Ect...

I drove the original cooper S and wasn't sure on the ride, a little harsh for my liking, preferred the cup'd clio. On good roads it was a blast.

got married end of summer and already talk of kids so a family car was mentioned, plus I got fully qualified this year so doing more mileage for work. Sold the clio whilst it was still worth something, took on the Golf, and got a 08 Focus zetec tdci for the Mrs. looks nice and drives well, but lacking that edge. I'm considering a Mk5 R32 in a few years but still holding there value well so maybe a bit optimistic. Always fancied one in deep pearl blue.

How much C1 did you use in the end? less than the 15ml bottle? have got my old bonnet to practice on, guess application can;t be too dissimilar to c4 & c5?
