Suicidal pigeon, new windscreen

  clio 172/Fabia vRS
On the way home a pigeon decided to swoop into my windscreen. I don't think he was too well afterwards, but I couldn't stop on the motorway to give him his guts back.

I've phoned insurance as it's cover on my policy for a £70 excess. Do I need to make sure that I get the right screen. I was under the impression the 172 has a snesor in the screen for auto lights and wipers and is also heat reistant or something. The guy I bought the car from tol me about it, but I forgot.

Anyone done this before and know the answer.

Thanks.

I had the windscreen on my 172 replaced a few weeks ago. i did through Autoglass, they phone and check what features your car/windscreen has....easy TBH.

Had mine replaced through insurance a while back, had someone from Autoglass phone me up and check if mine had a sensor/was tinted etc first, they'll prob do the same with you.

Had cover through Direct Line, and i contacted Autoglass. They were really good, they phoned me and confirmed all the features i had and confirmed i could still use all my the heated screen and lights :)

Hit a pheasant at 60mph a couple of years ago when I had a Fiesta ST. It went under the bumber and somehow mangled the radiator which cost £240 to replace!

I've had two new windscreens with Admiral, whichever company they use should ring you and ask for a time and place to turn up - you can make sure they know which screen to bring then.
