Stalling in neutral

My clio has been droppin well under 1k revs when stuck in neutral or sticking the clutch down and then it dies and have to start the ignition again. Any ideas? Dodgy battery? Idle control valve?

Also its leaking like a mofo, any solutions?

Possibly needs the idle control valve cleaning or repacing. I would take all the intake apart and give it all a good clean.

Whats leaking? oil, coolant etc

haha those are the exact 2 problems ive had on mine, the sunroof just needs sealing by a specialist sunroof or windscreen installer.

and with regards to the stalling, when i went to renault they said its quite a common problem that could be down to 2 or 3 things, so the best thing to do is wait until it does it on every start up and doesnt run properly, then they can figure out what the single thing causing the problem is

Pugs are notorious for hunting too, my pug will rev up to 1500rpm when idle then if you blip the throttle it drops to 800, although if its wet it might drop to under 500 and stall.

In the case of 205gti (similarly old car) the Supplementary Air Device (Auxiliary Air Slide Valve) is generally at fault, but the throttle body and air flow meter are worth a good clean too with carb cleaner.
