Powdercoating

Sent my 172 wheels in to be refurbed and powdercoated gloss black at a place in Preston for £50 a wheel.

This the going rate? Could have got em done for £100 for all 4 at another place but they were just gonna use normal paint.

Said it would take a week, well excited, will post pics when I get em on.

I paid 60 quid to get my williams wheels blasted and powdercoated, £15/wheel, Bloooor on here has a mate that can do it.

Got the tyres off, dropped them off, few days later done and picked up (based in stockport) then tyres back on. done.

Think its bout 40 rattlers a wheel in a place up here, maybe get discount for all 4..!!

Hiya pal am from blackpool too. Where in preston is it you have taken them cos i need my speedlines doing.

Good choice getting them powdercoated - a lot harderwearing and easier to clean than painted wheels. Mine are painted purely because I can do them at work for free.

Depends what you want. Costs more at my stepdad's place, but they do it the same day, remove/refit tyres and balance wheels, with a guarantee to boot.

take the tyres off, it will bring the quote down alot. My local place £50 a wheel with tyres, £35 each without.

I thought what I'm payin is the going rate so I never questioned it, £15 a wheel though that must be mates rates surely?

F & M Powder Coatings Ltd, put em in the search on yell.com for their address, dead new workshop and easy to find.

It would have been £40 without tyres but I wanted to get em in before the weekend so I didn't have time to remove them.

I'm gonna spray the centre caps tomorrow if it isn't throwing it down, anyone know if this will prove a problem in colour matching with the caps being ordinary paint and the wheels being powder?
