[PC/XB360/PS3] The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim

Yeah, that is a problem with Skyrim - You can become waaay overpowered after a while. My Daedric bow of Severe Awesomeness killed whatever I pointed it at. Even my light armour was so good that most baddies couldn't hurt me at all.

My 2nd character was a bit more challenging - A magic user wearing only robes and with minimal health upgrades. Many of the dudes I'm fighting can kill me in a single blow. Not if I see them first though... Those Level 100 Destruction magic spells make a mess.

It also gets very difficult to progress up in levels once you reach a certain point. Like I think I was on level 73 or whatever it was for literally days - and I mean in hours played.

I'm still enjoying it, about 60 hours in from memory, and still no where near the end of the missions - I literally just wander and I still can't believe I'm constantly finding new things

Tempted to get this again for PC, some of the screenshots make it look stunning. I got bored on my first playthrough when I could kill everything with one arrow.

You can get an ebony bow pretty early on from a Deathlord in Lost Valkygg. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Lost_Valkygg. Found it really useful with fire enchantment. Thing is you have to defeat the Deathlord first and being low level it's pretty hard even if you ramp down the difficulty level.

I envy those that have just started this, wish you could wipe your brain like a memory card so you could forget what happens in games.

Cheers. did this just now. Genuinely did not think you could change the difficulty in game! Whacked it down to novice and killed him on my 3rd attempt, just about. Only level 8, lol.

The best stone to activate is also the Steed Stone, IIRC. It allows whatever you're wearing to be weightless, so you can be rocking with full Dragon armour yet you aren't hindered by it's weight. I think it also adds 100 to your carrying allowance.

hmmm, I need to find that stone then.

Mind, I've kind of forgotten about Skyrim after completing the main story quest without even thinking about it.

PS3 needs the DLCs

This. Makes a really big difference.

Might have another go later, mine still freezes from time to time though, requiring a switch off and re-load, loosing what I had done :(

Just check the link posted up there ^ and place a marker on the rough area on the map. Be warned though, there are frost trolls patrolling the area, I didn't bother fighting them I just ran past them, lol. I used sparks on the deathlord followed by a fire enchanted axe. Before I battled him I had to level up, so I waited until he almost killed me then increased my health, which in doing so filled my health bar up full.

I did some sneaking just into the room, hit him twice then walked off till i was hidden and repeated :p the deathlord in the pit was abit of a tighter fight as not much room for movement

Stealth has little advantage in this game as far as I could see...would rather just bowl in and smash the hell out of them. The AI in this game is hardly that sophisticated.

Been a while since I've played this so can't quite remember but you do get a significant bonus for sneak attacks. x3 for the bow x6 for a weapon is it? Summat like that.

x2 for the bow.

Even though I completed this on Xbox, it still scares the utter s**t out of me going through caves/tombs.

I was walking down a tomb and saw a skeleton sitting on a chair, slumped over. Walked right up to him thinking he was going to jump up, but no. So I carried on walking slowly through the tunnels, heard a noise, turned round and the fucker was right in my face.

I only got Skyrim after watching a few Tobuscus videos so fear doesn't come into it any more.

My guy makes so much noise I have never bothered trying to sneak, I usually run into the middle screaming AAARRRRGHHHHHH!!!!! - seems to work most of the time using some FFOOOSSS, the mase of molag bal, and fire.

Looks pretty massive. Hope it's like Shivering Isles was to Oblivion. Sadly I've got rid of the PS3 and Skyrim.

Hi guys, for any of you playing this on pc that think that something more needs to be added to the game then just let me know, i've been creating endless different mods for this since it came out and i am currently working on a localized damage mod (more/less damage depending on where you hit on an enemies body). I have more hours gameplay than i'd like to count up and probably twice as much time spent modding, any questions/bugs you need solving then just hit me up!

Anyone still playing this? I've put crazy amounts of hours into this in the past 2 or 3 weeks. Got full Daedric armour (legendary) yesterday, it's pretty awesome!

I'm getting into the modding massively on the PC version now. Using this ENB:

http://www.skyrim-beautification-project.com/index.htm

I've downloaded pretty much every mod within this suggestion, going from essential to optional, including the followers and added a few of my own from Nexus mods, including this lovely Jessica Alba creation: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/27955/?

I've replaced the WATER mod with Pure Waters, as I think it looks better, but other than that, it's almost like for like initial modding, then I've added some of my own I downloaded (Immersive Armour, Weapons, Creatures etc. etc.) My mod list is huge, but after going through the website walkthrough, I loaded the game and it worked just fine. So very happy.

Actually shocked at how much scope there is for modding on Skyrim - you can change almost everything.

Yeah I've not bothered with any nude stuff.......

Also got a different Lydia although there's quite a few to choose from:

Thing is, you can pretty much import anyone into the game and have them as a follower, companion, NPC, marriageable, no clothes, do what you say, hoover etc. etc.

That link a couple of posts above from Project Beautification I think includes about 30 different suggestions that he's used (Section 5 - http://www.skyrim-beautification-project.com/mods/optional/index.htm)

Started playing this from scratch, again lol. Going down the archery & magic route. Dark Elf FTW.

The same class I started with. Just a shame that the core mechanics of the game make you a jack-of-all-trades as you progress through it. You fully intend to start off as an elf who specialises in archery and magic. But I can guarantee that if you complete with game that character - you will be anything but.

Although massively different in play-style - the likes of Legends of Grimrock II do the character selection/growth thing a whole lot better.
