What the hell spec PC are you running these on?

Ever since seeing BF4 at E3 I've been thinking about building a gaming pc again instead of buying an xbox one - but the thought of having to run windows makes me want to stab myself

For as above £2k minimum, but you don't have to go that mad. Yes you could use a TV but it's not ideal unless you can still get close to it imo.

To get the screenshots like above for Metro, currently you'd have to spend £1,800 on video cards alone, but lower settings can be used for a lot less than that lol.

I don't think I'd do it again lol. Fair enough if you're going to blow money on it and say "won't upgrade for sometime now" , but that's b****cks because I know I'll chop them out in 5 months. It's wasteful, but they're awesome cards! If I knew the 780s would come later I may of thought twice but ho-hum.

Being able to play with 4xSSAA is a big plus though, it just sounds like fancy abbreviation but it makes everything so smooth it looks pretty much cinematic quality.

It is a crazy world, I spent circa £1300 on my 580s and no-one looks twice at them these days. That's why I want more out of them and my i7 and them before upgrading.

I go for the value aspect of it tbf. 3570 and a 670 will last me a fair while (bought last July). I tend to get 3 years out of my rigs by buying smart rather than just buying the latest and greatest. Suits me down to the ground. 1200 odd quid every 3 years doesn't really hurt the pocket.

As awesome as this thread is, it's really annoying me as my main rig is in pieces and I played Tombraider for all of 30 mins before flying out to Florida, arggh! I was really getting into Metro LL as well.

I feel your pain pretty much as my rig is at work at the moment as I've no where to put it at home currently. So I only play for like 20 minutes when I find time or through lunch lol. Hence why I was looking to sell...but couldn't bring myself to lol

I used to spend a fortune on my gaming rig yonks ago - I remember forking out four figures so I could play Quake III Arena at 60fps and with a decent connection via ntl!

I simply can't afford it any more, nor justify it - Wish I could. That's why I just have an xbox now really - it's never really got in the way of the gaming experience graphics wise. I think the fact we're all on HD TV's makes it more tolerable!

Back when I was comparing Dreamcast games on my CRT to my pc rig it was night any day!
