OrigineRS event pics - so many v6 clios etc!

Wow, what a truely epic day yesterday for the first (but I really hope not the last!) OrigineRS event at Goodwood.

Had an amazing time on track (goodwood has always been on the bucket list for me but Ive never got round to driving it before) and the atmosphere was just so friendly.
You really cant beat goodwood for that epic feeling of the bygone era of motorsport etc, always a great place for a day out but if you are into clios and other sport renault cars then yesterday really was epic!

Sorry I didnt really get pictures to do it justice but here is a few iPhone ones I did manage to get.

Was great to see so many V6 clios on the track, they really do sound good when a few of them go past with their foot down.

Even MagpieV6 got in on the act and tracked her car rather than just licking the windows clean all day like she normally does.




Really hope this becomes an annual event! If you were anywhere else yesterday you made a mistake ;)

Some great looking cars there.

Judging by the success of the event hopefully it will be back next year.

Was a epic day. Great mix of cars and at a car orientated venue too !!!

Im uploading my photos now so if its ok Chip il chuck them in here to keep threads down to a minimum ? Got some nice shots of yourself and Lesley on track :)

Yeah it really was considering it was the first year and how little publicity it therefore had etc.

I can see it selling out VERY quickly next year now people know what to expect, I cant imagine that anyone who went yesterday wont want to go back, and obviously lots of other people seeing the pictures (better one than my quick phone ones will no doubt spring up soon!) who didnt go are going to want to go as well.

Just as a show it was worth going to, but the fact that for 30 quid you could do a trackday session there as well really did make it perfect!

Lol, yeah sorry my efforts arent great!

I'll get a video up with a lap of the track to show that side of it too :)

Was a fantastic day! It was Renaultsport heaven. My only criticism was that time flew by way too quickly... Even though we were there for nearly 12 hours!

The location and cars would of been awesome just as a static show, but the track element just made it so much more. Seeing the Alpines & 5 turbos flying round was brilliant. Great to see the vees out on track too. They are great to drive on track!

I saw your 182 Chip, looked lovely. Thanks for sharing your photos.

Agreed totally, it was SO good to see V6 clios actually being used, I think it would be easy to get the impression (from the fact that all you normally see on here is cleaning threads never trackday ones) that people with V6 clios dont actually like driving them, but yesterday I got to see a load of V6 owners enjoying their car properly, and given the very limited number of cars on track at a time to keep it so sensible, I would argue far more safely than you ever could do anywhere else.

Thanks for the comment about our car, but it really was over shadowed, the other machinery there was just amazing! But it was nice to be made very welcome anyway in our lowly 182 :)

Can only echo whats been said before. I can only see this event growing and growing. Shaun and co have put on an amazing event this year, bringing over some dedicated souls from France and organizing some of Alpines classic cars to attend was heroic. The amount of track action was great especially seeing V6's flying around the circuit. Cant wait for next year..... Just hope it doesn't clash with any other events :)

Yeah, it was a shame it clashed with CSS as I normally go and would have done this year despite the location, but there was NO way I was missing the chance to get out at goodwood with so many awesome cars.

So impressed @MagpieV6 took hers out, I have often teased her she spends too long polishing it and doenst use it properly but she went out on track mutliple times and she did give it a pretty decent go as well she wasnt just crawling round!

Dawn was pedaling that Vee fast. After seeing her threads i was shocked to see it on track. Its the one car i took the most pictures of. Hers and Ali's looked perfect on track.

Yeah she was opening it up properly on the straights and even in the bends she was by no means going slow despite how much that car is worth and worth to her in particular!

We had a great drag race the whole way down the main straight and it was just fantastic seeing it opened up properly :)

I learned two things yesterday that were quite eye opening;

1. Despite many claims to the contrary, V6 Clios can be thrown about on track just like you would a 172/182/197/200 and, if you do, they're f***ing rapid (thanks Ali ).

2. The Clio 200T is a proper RenaultSport Clio through and through.

Great day. Great to catch up with everyone again.

As if dawn put her vee on track!

i bet it was just a 1.2 in a body kit.


Did any vees catch fire or spin?
