New exhaust and insurance

  182 FF
i was fitted when you bought it.... still choking at that, thats criminal, ring them up again or speak to watchdog/trading standards? i dunno do something ffs!

I have, i asked them to justify it to me, it essentially doubling my monthly insurance cost

its going to be hard for you to do any back tracking now as you have told them you have had it fitted.

i would have spoke to them first about costings before it was fitted (or even before you bought it)

failing that, if your desperate you could wait a few days and then "remove" it

  182 FF
Yeah i totally forgot to phone them, and then today i recieved a load of emails from this thread stating Direct Line do not insure mods of any kind, the original exhaust was removed today and had to be cut off, apparantly a common thing. But i may try and see if its able to be re-fitted. £40 a month more isnt worth it.

RAC would charge me around £14 more a month but then there is the cancellation fee of £26 and the intial deposit with RAC of £123

chat to sky insurance on here. they are cheap, they cover mods and you get discount.

dont like the system because of the way it sounds/looks or because its bumped up your insurance.

you could sell your exhaust on here and put the original back on, putting a sleeve over the cut joins.

i would look into a different insure first though, probably would get it cheaper elsewhere inc mods!

im now with Adrian Flux after being with DirectLine previously, charged me £0 for exhaust, sportlines & air filter! :)

same it says £0 pounds on exhaust changes. But when i actually spoke to this new women she actually dropped that i was paying 150 for the exhaust an tints. so......

  WANTED: RB 182
Lol with regards to declaring power - Insurance companies would have to ask for a Rolling Road graph when they first insure you :rasp:

  182 FF
I won......
"we're in Mexico you little piece of Sh*t" What film is this?

Anyway i won, total calls to Direct Line, 6. On the 6th call i said i was leaving and they should wave the cancellation fee due to them charging me double, i asked them should i just buy another 182 instead as they were doubling my premium and they were stumped. After speaking for a while to a helpful guy who said if its made out of the same substance as the original and it wasnt added for sound and looks the same they will accept it....!

I phoned Renault to confirm that the standard was made of stainless steel.

Train your staff better Direct Line, i said yesterday "its a Stainless Steel replacement system"

They are no changing my policy back to the relatively normal amount of £48 a month. Also to say sorry they are adding some discounts on to my other three Direct Line policies.

To the lovely guy who said "f her make her pay" i say good day sir.! :rasp:

I might ask for a discount then, as 99% of 1*2's make considerably less than they are supposed to ...

Less power, less risk surely ;)

I tried this with one of the specialists when I was thinking of getting a remap. I told them it'd only bring it up to book if not less, so can I add it for free. They said no lol

How my mate never had to pay any extra for modding his Golf GTI up to 270bhp, I'll never know!
