Value for money its fantastic on these tbh!
I bet your neighbours etc have all commented on how nice and expensive it is, completely disregarding that old purple fiesta; pretty much the polar opposite to the comments on the internetz haha.

I had the Audi votex wheels on mine, lovely wheels, rare, lightweight and oem, prefect.

Is it the fact that not many have driven a V6 TT that they instantly think it's just a posers wagon? I don't understand it.

The grip is simply insane, maybe the fact it instills so much confidence in the corners people think it's boring, personally I don't see it.

Bose, Heated Leather, Xenons a stunning engine and sound, just so much kit for under 5k.

Please don't go there mate lol.
They're not drivers cars, but they will do most things very well.

Rob those wheels were on the one I took you out in.

Those pictures actually look nothing like the car in the flesh...

Meh, DSG 3.2 VAGs are for gays iirc.

Avus silver is lovely, although it is a little too close to Peugeot's manstone blue for my liking ... Easy for detailing though, so not entirely what you'll do with your weekends now you wont be cleaning the car for 8 hours a day!!! Eat more deep fried haggis/Mars bars i assume?

Votex ones aren't up to much imo. I still love the BBS style standard wheels...

f**k cleaning them though.

This car rocks but they'd probably be nicer in Silver...

Those LM's or the 225 wheels.

LM's are so amazing, wish i could have them on zed. There's one around the corner from me with them on, makes me want to weep.

I nearly bought one of these around a year ago, v6, dsg in akoya silver with nappa leather.

Unfortunately the test drive didn't excite me and I wasn't a fan of the box. There were also a fair few horror stories online regarding dsg and the one I was looking at had already been rebuilt under warranty!

As stated it looks tidy but for me it's just another tt.

I actually think that colour is lovely! A friend has a 1.8t MK1, and it seems your getting better MPG than him.

I can completly understand what you mean about how much you get in these cars, they feel so modern, and very well equipped, for a car that was around the same era as the phase 2 Clio. They are lovely places to be, and yours looks lovely, good buy I say!

I like it mate, lovely colour and i bet its nice to drive. Seems a world away from the drivers car you've come from, guess you got your reasons though.

That'll be the mechatronic unit. Can fail at any time really, but it does give a few tell tales that its dying, ie unwillingness to change gear, jumping into 1st when pulling away etc. DSG oil change every 40k helps avoid the issue.

From VW, the part alone is circa £1500. However a company called 'ECU testing' will refurb your broken one for £350. The failure is caused by a small breakdown in the electronic circuits within the unit iirc (similar to the issues with the e46 M3 vanos solenoid) - so relatively easy to fix by said specialist.

Video sounds great. Sounds like the flapper mod makes a bigger difference to these than it does the mk5 r32s.

There is definitely horror stories about everything on the net. People quoting 5k to replace the gearbox just because the Mechatronic unit failed! Feck off! Cost a friend £750 to get his fixed and it's been fine for another 15k miles. Scaremongering. It certainly wouldn't put me off. That's what warranty is for.

The engine could blow up tomorrow. Can't be any worse than the 1.8 turbos failing! Much more to go wrong on the 1.8t!

Properly love TTs. That looks an absolute minter. Can't wait to see what you do with it

Thanks mate, hoping to have it really tidy by the end of the years, need to get the calipers sorted soon. Non car people seem to think they look awesome! Because Red because Brembos iirc!

I just find it hard to think of a car that gives so much for the money in that kind of price range.

YOur detailing skills make it look awesome tbh.

Thanks mate. A correction detail will transform it.

Yeah it is at the opposite end of the scale of the Frp but it got to a weird stage with the Frp, not only was it totally unsuitable for the roads around me I wasn't driving it like it should have been. I was driving it like a comfy cruiser when it wasn't. It was a perfect time to change. I've come out of it very lucky.

Yes not the 5k new gearbox people would have you believe. It's not something that will ever play on my mind. Oil was done at it's 40k miles service and it will be done in the next few months, well before the 80k service. The gearbox is more than worth the possible issues.

As usual for every 100 that have broken there are another 5000 that are perfectly fine!

Car looks good mate.

All the best with it.

Thanks Ian! :)

It really has, If I was doing a long journey, couple of hundred motorway miles i'd maybe change it back, not that I think it will be droney, i'll try it soon and see. It certainly adds a little more voice to the car about town!

After spending the best part of 2k on my Audi gearbox I tend to believe the horror stories but like you say, people only put bad reviews on the Internet.

Looks lovely does that. I was toying with the idea of a V6 3.2 before buying the Z4.

Enjoy it, mate.

Hmm if I only needed 2 seats i'd have bought a Z4 possibly.

Cheers mate, the calipers (1 "l" ;) are proper shat! I did laugh when someone at work said they were nice! Behave, i'll probably do them silver. Although Black would mean I wouldn't actually have to worry about dirt. Should get that done soon.

The Dsg box is superb, upshift and downshift on the paddles is proper awesome.

I don't understand why people think it's a sad box when 90% of supercars actually have the same thing. :S

Looks really nice Kev! Don't like TT's myself but can understand your reasoning for buying one after the Fiesta.

Hope you enjoy it make, few little tasty mods and it'll be proper.

Looks lovely mate, I'm pretty jealous. I bet it feels in a completely different class build quality wise to the FRP.

I feel bad even saying it but it feels like a "proper" car, with a "proper" engine. The Frp sounded great but it was all just exhaust. The TT at least sounds like it has some meat to the engine.

Feels nice not to have to avoid every single bump in the road now! Just cruises with minimal effort and can do the "sporty" thing just as well.
