Mk1 transmission knocking noise :( ....

  1997 Mk1 1.2
I noticed on my way to work this morning there's and irritating knocking noise when moving, in the car it sounds like its coming from somewhere around the passenger side front end , didnt pay much attention to when It was happening tbh
Corning, accelerating etc (half asleep :) )

Just looking for some advice on what to look for ?
Going to take it for a spin in my lunch and have a look for any thing obvious
I've looked on other threads and think it could be
cv joint
Wheel bearing
Gearbox/engine mounts

Anything else it could be ? Anyone had this problem ?

Abit vague I know , but ill have more info after lunch
Just looking for advice on any other possibilities that could cause this?

No noise on accelerating or clutch coasting or in neutral coasting The knocking starts between 35-40 mph and increases from there on until it becomes a clunky buzzing sound (sounds like it something rotating hitting something
cv joint looks out by eye , no play on wheel bearing , I think it looks like there is some play in steering but can't be sure until I jack up when I get home to have a proper look

The Knocking only happens whilst decelerating and engine braking , :/
Driving in a straight line or cornering makes no difference , it's still there

Any ideas ? I'm planning on doing a 600 mile trip next week and would like to sort this out
