Konigsports or SPAX coilovers?

So the Gaz coilovers on my 182 are a bit dead so looking at replacing them, just wondering which to get?

I've narrowed it down to either Konigsports or SPAX from 519 on here, just wondering what people on here would go for?

I do road driving with maybe 1 or 2 track days a year, I don't want to go mega low with it at all just want it to handle well.

Cheers

They're actually quite similar.

I'm going to bring some Spax kits to CSS if you want a look, unless you want to order before then

FK's for me.

Not had any experience with Spax on a Clio though so not the fairest answer.

If you have the 54mm spacing hubs I'd go for FK, dampers by Koni and they feel better than the Spax. Just a shame FK aren't in 'cup' 60mm. Still early days for me on Spax, I'm not saying they're bad I d prefer to have the Konigsports

I'm not going to CSS as I'm on holiday that week, I need them by August 25th for it's MOT so need to make my mind up soon to be honest....

FK's in my opinion. Have been on my Cup for a couple of years now. Fully soft they are fairly compliant on the road and have a nice adjustment range for on track use.

Depends entirely on your usage though. I'd suggest the FK's if you are going to properly make use of the suspension for track day work.
If its simply for teh lowz and road use, well the Spax will probably do the job.

I've done a couple of track days and a trip to the ring with mine and they're exceptional on track. The car is also my daily drive and the ride is brilliant IMO. I think the majority who've actually tried them and set them up correctly would agree.

As I already said though, if you went for cheaper of the 2 spax options (not the track day kit) there's very little in it between them and the FK's. I went with SPAX as a brand as they were interested in new product development and I like what they make, where-as Koni couldn't have cared less for any non brand new vehicle and laughed at the idea of making something for a clio

Sounds like its completely your call then squire. I can't fault FK's as a fit and forget part but I have no experience of Spax and I don't know many other who have them either.....well south of Watford that is.
Its like any suspension kit. You'll have those pushing one over another and delcaring another is pap compared to another!
The middle ground is full with a lot of similar priced kits so its trickier to pick.

I too would go for KonigSports, the Koni dampers are brilliant and can be adjusted from very soft, to very hard depending on preference. They are a great drive.

No experience of the Spax on the clio, so barring rumour & speculation, i cant really offer an opinion :)

  A special one.
Im also after a set of coilovers for my ph1, i called Venom and the guy said about the AP kit but now ive seen this im very tempted.
I didnt want a 300 pound set or could i justify spending 1000 pounds or more for what i use my car for.

Let us know how they feel on the road.

On a 182 Cup Pack?

Think you may be sending them back, as IIRC they were only available for 172/182 non cup pack.

no doubt totally by accident, but youve just proved why buying from a specialist who knows the product is better than an automated website that is marginally cheaper
