Is it easier to paint calipers on or off the car?

  No car
As per title, is it easier to paint the calipers on or off the car? I have a spray can. If its easier to take off then what tools would I need?

Thanks

off, you can dismantle the calipers aswell wich makes it even more easy and 100x more professional.
No paint on the rubber parts etc.

The steps are partially the same, the caliper has to be removed from the hub with the two 18mm bolts.
Then you have to have to disconnect the line, bare in mind that your have to bleed your brakes if you do that.
If you decide to do this don't forget to remove the cap of the brake fluid reservoir under the hood (to release pressure).

Removing the parts will always give you a better finish. It just a case of can you be bothered and are you confident enough in your ability to remove and refit brakes (they really are a piece of piss to do)

It's easy just un screw it and either clamp the brake hose or hold it up, plug a cap in, anything to stop the fluid pissing out. Then once you've sprayed the caliper screw the hose back in, tighten it up. Then undo the bleed nipple, apply a little pressure at the brake peddal, this will help push the fluid through the caliper and force the air out. Then once your happy its just fluid in the caliper tighten the bleed nipple. Next pump the brake peddel and it should go to a normal hard peddal and thats it, job done.

P.s don't forget to top up the fluid level after if needed.
