True but I can't complain too much.
I got the same when I bought it and a very cheap price considering what other 182s were up for at the time. Got to soak up the same thing when you sell too!

How much is it worth?
The time has come to sell my 2002 PH2 172...
It has 17" alloys lowered on Sportlines, stainless twin exause and JMS remap
Its done 74k
Body works in mint condition
Belts done + full service
10 months MOT 4 monts TAX
What you you think i should put it up for?

Am seriously considering my 172 when I get back from holiday but don't have the time to put it back to standard.
The cars a 2002 02 Monaco blue with 75k. Belts changed 20k ago with 12 months mot and tons of history mods are all pretty choice like
Recaros
Anthracite turinis (Inc spare)
Cup spoiler
Matched inlets
Jms induction kit
Remapped
Front and rear strut braces
Raceland coilovers
Carbon wrapped interior parts Inc diamonds bumper inserts and bullets
Carbon splitter
And a few other bits like tow eye stainless foot rest etc
The body work and paint are in excellent condition as most of the car has recently been resprayed to get rid of stone chips etc
I know I would get more stripping it and selling the parts but would I be unrealistic in asking £3800 for it with all the mods

you wont get that - not on an 02 plate-- with the mods- maybe 3.4/3.5 tops--- fundamentally its still an 02 plate with 75k.....
If you can-- Put the original spoiler bak on, put the original wheels & susp back & flog the rest on here- if you cant you will lose out

No history, filthy boot carpet, missing spare wheel, black bonnet, wrong back bumper (Thats chipped) Massive heavy exhaust, worn drivers seat, oil flap missing, Air feeds disconnected on the airbox and a pukkered wheel bearing.....

I think you'll find Daniel has more knowledge than a lot of people on here, if you're just going to dismiss what he's said because you don't like his response then there's no point asking the question in the first place.
The wheel bearing bit makes you look lazy. Get it fixed then there's no bad points to mention. Common sense.
If it is just bird poo, why did you take pictures of you car dirty? Get some decent pictures if you actually want to sell it as people will just think it's chipped.

Fact is, you've shown pics of your engine with bits missing and hanging off. I certainly wouldn't buy it.
If you wanna sell a car bite the bullet and pay the dough to get it sorted and you can sell it as being mechanical sound.
I would expect to see that sort of motor going for about £1.5/6k. But i wouldn't buy it because of the exhaust/bonnet/bits missing. Just looks ragged and uncared for.

Cheers mate. It was on auto trader for 3 weeks. Not a single call. I have now put it back on with hope.

I could sell that car for £3000 all day long. Needs a days labour and about £200 spent on it. You showed us pictures (Even you can't say different) that are shocking.

If i was going to buy a standard non rs clio i would be looking at the £2k mark.
Over £3k to me opens up a lot of more doors where a standard French car wouldn't make the shortlist.
Tricky because it's a 1.4 too, if it was a 1.2 i reckon it would sell, most youngsters think engine sizes mean the world and probably wont even bother getting a insurance quote.

I agree with Daniel. Ive been looking at all the cars for sale in the for sale section over the last few weeks and after seeing what Feirny had picked up, I looked at yours at it sounded good. The pics put me off big time though im afraid.

I'd say your spot on with price mate. Mines the same as yours, except a 1.2, 6 months older with 5,000 less miles and I'd want between 2500 and 2750 realistically. I'd keep it at that price as most people will offer your a couple of hundred quid less anyway. I think the problem with 1.4's is that they can be abit higher on insurance for first time drivers so get over looked for 1.2's alot.

Well look at it this way...
If you advertised that car for £3000, how many more people would you attract? Lots of people will search for a car upto £3000. (Using autotrader now means you can really really narrow down your search!) They won't see your car advertised at all. If you advertised it for £3000 and then someone knocks you down £100, you've got £2900 and you originally wanted £3000. The cars sold, you're only down £100 but you've got the money! The cars gone!!
