Help with Zenons please gents...

  Clio
Evening gents, I have a 1.4 16v with standard lights, I have managed to get hold of a set of complete zenons in great condition, the question is will they plug and play and is the auto levelling devise needed, if so how hard is it to fit. Thanks in advance gents, as much advice possible please...

Thanks bud, is there anyway of the mot station telling that they weren't fit to the car from standard.
Yes...lack of headlight washers! They have to have washers on Xenons by law. The autolevellers are just a ballast pack. Surely it should fit in as part of it all...and is much better than blinding people THEN realising and adjusting the level.

Almost completely wrong. Washers and self levelling must be operational IF PRESENT. Non fitment is not a reason for rejection at an MOT, as there are a fair few cars which never had them as standard. Whilst it is technically a contravention of the type approval, a copper will never tell that the fitment isn't standard - OEM headlights and OEM bulbs, ballasts, igniters, it would take a very knowledgable copper to not think it was the OEM arrangement and most wouldn't even know there wasn't a washer head hidden away somewhere.

Levelling is controlled by a sensor on the rear suspension beam. Manual levelling will still work with the HID units, and if correctly adjusted will be no more blinding than usual.

What Gherkin said ^

Also everything is plug and play apart from the leveling motors on the back of the headlights. Renault changed these somewhere between 172/182 so the plug on the motor is different. So you may need to put your motors from your standard headlights into the back of the Xenon units.

Quick question,

Lets say you fit a Xenon HID kit rather than the whole unit (on a 182 cup) is there something inside that you can manually level the lights with manually?
