George 172 cup

After introducing myself I thought I would make a project thread for the clio. This is my first cup but second clio 172, I fell in love with my last one and had to have another, so here's some pictures

Plans for the next couple of months
Change wheels
New exhaust (which I get in 2 weeks)
Fit my steering wheel
Bucket seats

Other than that I am just going to enjoy being back in a clio again

Update time, I had an old vibe sub sitting doing nothing and a wiring kit in my other car, swiftly ripped it out my bora and fitted it to clio, getting it through front grommit was a challenge but got there in the end

I should be able to fit my steering wheel this week, bought a momo boss which should be here Thursday

As I am pretty certain I will be tracking the clio I picked up a spare set of wheels with usable tyres for a measly £20, they have been siting behind a shed for 4 years but will be looking good by end of week with a clean and quick spray

Starting spraying the wheels, my shed is only big enough to do one at a time, just finished the second one today but here's a pic of the first, hoping to have them fitted by this weekend

And as my speedo doesn't work I found a useful app to solve the problem, looks good at night with heads up display

Pretty sure the torque app will accept a 10hz gpz receiver. Might come in useful when tracking it later. Nice car. I really like my cup. It's poverty spec appeals to me for some reason.

I may sound daft but I don't know what you mean by torque app?

Yea poverty spec appeals to me aswell, less to go wrong and I will be removing pretty much everything once bucket seats are purchased

It's a smart phone app you can use with a cheapo eBay Bluetooth obd dongle. Pretty sure it's iPhone and android.

Beginning to think I maybe the only person running and tracking a boggo cup!

Your car looks fantastic. Just one thing, your spoiler doesnt look like its fitting very well. Ive got the same problem, Ive got a feeling there is more than one type of cup spoiler if that makes sense. Think the 182 cup and 172 cup ones are different or something.

U must have very good eyes but your completely right, when I open the boot it catches the roof not overly fussed by it the now as when it's stripped out I will hardly use the boot

I trial fitted the new wheels, really don't like the look of the car with them fitted but they will do a job for winter, one of the tyres need replaced will have that sorted this week

So this happend last night, bottom balljoint popped out and took the driveshaft with it, very lucky it happend while parking and not on the motorway up there. Managed to get it all built back up and drove it onto recovery wagon, will hopefully be fixed tomorrow

So now that the car is fixed and back home I thought I would fit my steering wheel, was very easy to come off as wheel has been changed before

Only had a short drive after fitting but does feel awesome

Just picked up this new exhaust, offered at a good price by one of the guys I go to college with, will sit in my shed for a while as I want to fit it once I have a decat

Yea took battery off and left it for an hour, wheel was very simple to come off as it has previously been off before, I have just fitted a snap off boss aswell but I will need a new steering wheel as the dish on mine is bringing it to close to me

I really so not like carbon wrap, do it right or not at all so it was time to get rid of the previous owners attempts, looks so much better, bullets will be sprayed this week as they have some paint flaking
