fitting removing gearbox on a 172 how hard/easy expensive?

  2LTR 16V TURBO CLIO!
Looking at a clio project it's a decent spec but the gear box has seized. ...

question is how hard is it to remove and fit another box...

I have a good bunch off tools but never done this before mechanical skills wise aren't great but if i have somting to follow im fine. (Stripped a Evo and removed a Williams engine in the past.

also if i was to take it to a gargantuan any idea on a rough price.

cheers.

If you've stripped an evo and removed a Williams engine I can't see this bothering you.

  PH2 172 & 182
I've just taken a box out of a 182, and I'm in no rush to do it again. Maybe I didn't gone best route, but it was a definite struggle. I've done a box swap in 1.5 hours drive in drive out on an old zetec-s, took more like 5 hours to drop the box on the Clio (mainly because I didn't know what I was doing!)

  Many.
Its not that hard to do at all, I'd happily help if you're local.

Drop the subframe entirely is my advice.
