FAO: People who work in Telecommunications/Internet Industry

Hi Everyone,

I have an ongoing saga about broadband. According to BT I still cant get it in my area but due to some new cables being laid I should now be able to. What has happened is that due to an engineers visit a couple of years ago there is a flag on our line so whenever I try to order, they just say 'no'.

Have ordered with PlusNet who are going to try and help sort this as I have given up with BT's poor customer service and they are going to do two things:

- Chase with TAGS / Prov
- Place a manual CRF

What do those two things mean?
Many Thanks

James

TAGS (or markers)/Provisioning - The "flag" is showing on your line as there's already an incompatible service showing on the line and/or the engineer manually marked the line for some reason and it's not been removed since.. If no such service is in place then they need provisioning to remove the FLAG/TAG/Marker from the line so the order can be passed to provisioning.

Manual CRF - Cease and Resupply form iirc.
