I don't think I met you at Tony's last karting event but if I remember correctly your team was showing people how it was done :rasp:.

Well it certainly wasn't Tom.....from 4th to last after the first sodding lap. IIRC it was Dave and I who dragged us back up to a respectable 3rd....which should have been 2nd if team Burpspeed had actually played fair....

One time after some indoor karting I almost piled the MX-3 at the first roundabout I came to, expect noe sharp shove to get the nose in.

I think you guys had a different interpretation of the rule 'minimum of 7 stops'....iirc everyone else was under the impression this meant 7 DRIVER changes!
Either we missed a trick or you guys are waaaaay too wily/wise/old for us to contend with!

Ah, that's just the old tale of interpretting rules in the most advantageous way.

Just because you have to make 7 stops, doesn't mean you have to do anything during these stops.

It wasn't a loophole, it was 9 other teams without proper sanctioned race experience too busy to stop and actually think about what had actually been said.......and of course, there would have been a big upset if Burpspeed hadn't of won the Burpspeed Karting Endurance Race.....

I had to wait for Jay to find out which day he could get off from work,to start stripping the race car.

Okay here's an idea:

Fastest lap prize fund

Only for those that enter - Winner takes all entry fee money

entry fee would be decided

• 50p
• £1
• £2
• £more

IF the track has an adequate timing system with fastest lap printouts we go ahead and put entries into the kitty. Fastest driver goes home with the lot. We got 17 drivers, if everyone did it (It's not even the cost of a bottle of coke) then someone would go home very happy. Or could split into 1st, 2nd and 3rd fastest and still be a nice treat, because one of you is bound to be miles faster than everyone. This gives a prize to someone who maybe can't "race" but is a good solid hot lapper.

Hell, alright, I'll lose a couple of quid in the name of a laugh. It gives people an incentive to keep puching even after they've been unceremoniously punted off the circuit and left there for 5 minutes while the marshall chastise Scrooge for smoking the clutch..... then discovering it's not actually his fault.
