Hi all,

Im posting this for TheMegatron as he's a new member and not 100% sure on how to do so.

This noise appeared today on the way home from a 1hr trip. He asked me what i though the noise was but i wasnt too sure. Can someone decipher what the noise is please? Not the best vid but it was taken off the phone. TheMegatron will be along to post shortly.

Thanks.

I can get a better vid if needed. It was just recorded quickly as he didnt want the risk of running the engine if it was dodgy.

Can the water pump or dephaser be fixed and the existing belts still be kept or is it recommended to have all belts done again. Or can the water pump or dephaser be fitted without removing the belts?

Complete newbie to this so any help would be appreciated.

water pump - easy enough, no new bits needed other than a belt (or belt KIT with an AC car)

dephaser - belt has to come off, but if its relatively new then chuck it back on - doubt you'll get any warranty out of the garage though!

  A special one.
If I had bought a car from you or any car trader that specialises in that particular brand then id just be talking to them.

Its not like you are one of these ass holes car trader's that will
1, mug him off or 2, try and wriggle out of it.

Anyway whats done is done.

Was posting to check to see what the problem was before messaging Steve. It's always good to get opinions on the problem rather than guessing.

Steve has been good and its all being resolved. Never meant to slate Steve off in anyway, which I hope I haven't come across as doing so.

Yeah we just wanted opinions on what it could be 1st as we were hoping it was just the water pump.

I took it to Mark Fish as I live near him and made the decision to book it in with him there and then because I urgently need the car for Wednesday. Looking bk i realise it was a mistake to book it in without talking to Steve 1st, but as I said it was an on the spot decision. Plus my wife sends him a lot of work through her business so hopefully he won't pull my pants down.

As Steve said it's just one of those things, I'm not the luckiest man in the world so this sort of shite don't shock me.
