Drone noise starting to get worse! Cant actually tell if its front or rear

  BG 182, BMW 320d
Well the car has starting droning at motorway speed but now its doing it at lowish speeds as well. Reading up it could be wheel bearing but I actually can't pinpoint where the noise is coming from as sometimes it sounds like it at the front and and the rear. Any help ?

Cheers

if the noise is there weather its in gear or not its likely to be the wheel bearing, jack the car up and see if there is any play in the wheels...

The above will only tell you if the wheel bearing is seriously bad.

Jack up car. Hold the spring and rotate the wheel. The one which is gone will vibrate though the spring very clearly

I had a wheel bearing go. It was definitely on the the left hand side. Had the front changed but there was still a slight drone. Turns out the back had gone at the same time!

normally a dead bearing will have some resistance and noise to it when the wheel is in the air and u spin it by hand, so compare sides, it should be smooth and silent...
