Driveshaft / Bearing wobble / humming problems.

Hi Guys,

I get a humming noise that is proportional to the speed and I can make it quieter round a right and louder round a left.

I've jacked it up on to stands and checked the wheels and there is a tiny amount of play on the n/s wheel but the o/s is fine.

When I check the driveshafts they both feel fine, however when I put the car in gear I can visibly see the o/s driveshaft wobbling.

The noise sounds as though it is coming from the o/s.

Should there be any wobble in the o/s driveshaft and is there anything else I can check before fixing something that isn't the problem?

Thanks in advance

Usually when turning and one side gets louder and other quieter points to the wheel bearing

Hi,

I would have expected turning left to make it noisier would indicate the o/s bearing as more weight is being pushed on to it, but I am more concerned about the wobble on the o/s driveshaft and I haven't found anywhere that talks about this.

Thanks

J
