-Danman-‘s Inferno 182

Are the Rotas the white ones we saw?

No they were the Renault Storm's you saw mate, here's a quick photo of the Rota's :)

(They're not quite fitted properly in this photo though)

13983946445_ce3c6d9be1_c.jpg

They'll be going a similar colour to the Turini's eventually, maybe a gunmetal grey or something.

Right. I thought it was about time for an update. Although it won't be the one a few people are hoping for lol! ;)

Mudflaps

No, you didn't read it wrong and I know it’s one of the CS communities’ pet hates but I wanted to protect the paintwork over winter from all the salt and grime all over the roads.

They didn't take too long to fit but most of the time was spent trying to line them up so they matched and working out how much I wanted them to stick out.

There were pre-drilled holes in the mudflaps but they didn’t really line up how I wanted. It was either this –

(Too far out and too high)

14088621761_cb9294d526_c.jpg

14068718076_d749b0483d_c.jpg

Or this – (Too far in and too low)

13905234290_cc3164758c_c.jpg

You can see the tyre sticking out more than the mudflap here so it would have been useless if I left it like this!

13904973280_e54c383a6e_c.jpg

After that, I thought the only option was to drill a few more holes so they would line up nicely to the existing screw holes which attached the arch liner and side skirt. It ended up like this –

13905230440_1eed020afd_c.jpg

I wanted to secure the top at first but thought, it’s not going to go anywhere and I haven’t had any problems with them catching the wheel so it’s all good! :)

The next day I woke up nice and early to take a few more photos as it had soon got dark when I initially fitted them.

Fronts –

Rears –

14068646336_0746e97f54_c.jpg

Already started doing their job after a quick spin ;)

13905078249_edf0eeef30_c.jpg

And a few outside the gf’s house –

14111704343_2561cf689a_c.jpg

I know they don't look very nice but it's not a fashion accessory, they're on to protect the paintwork. (Although I doubt the rears do much! :p)

That’s it for this update. Not very exiting I know but it’ll get better soon, I promise! ;)

Cheers!

Thanks mate. I just need 2 new tyres and they can go on :)

- 172 stub axles (you won't need to do that)
- 1.5 degree camber shims
- 5mm spacers
- Trim a few mm off the brake callipers

They look pretty similar to yours apart from the concave bit. Only bad thing is stretched tyres :p

yeah i know its the concave look that i really like, yeah but at least with the strecthed tyres you can get it sitting alot better on the back end haha

Yeah that's the main reason I got them as well! ;)

I wouldn't get away with having normal tyres, unless I had major arch work done. Gonna have a right fat ass soon lol!

I decided to play around on the computer and have come up with a few Photoshops that hopefully show my plans for this year. I want to get them done before CS14 ideally.

First off - The back bumper. Before I had even got my car I knew that if I did get one, this would be one of the mods.

I'm thinking of a gloss black wrap rather than matte but will be interested to see how the proper "group buy rear diffuser" turns out as well.

14145465375_792532a0cf_c.jpg

I'd have to have the front bumper done as well to match ;)

13958772009_4bea29fa6e_c.jpg

One of the other things I want to wrap are the door pillars. I really like this and think it makes the car look really different from the side view.

Here's another photoshop showing the front bumper and door pillar :)

14122303166_70456aa44b_c.jpg

And eventually (When the front bumper goes in for a respray) I want to smooth the headlight washer blanks as well -

13958889558_7d5e203777_c.jpg

It was getting late and I went a bit mad after that. Decided to smooth the whole bumper and add a bonnet vent! :clown:

More updates coming soon :)

Car looks great.

Ever thought about spraying your wiper blank gloss black to blend in with the rear window?

I like the carbon bits around the exhausts! Might add that to my "to do" list...

Thanks mate, quite subtle I think :)

Cheers dude! I did that on my old clio but thought I'd do something different this time :)

Think I prefer the colour coded one tbh :)

I'm not sure how much love this will get on here but I love this!

That shot from the rear is awesome :p

Haha probably not much lol! I've seen a few Inferno's with the front bumper wrapped but not the rear one.

Thanks mate, hopefully it'll look as good when it's actually on! :p

This is a win for me!

Thought it was about time to sort out the carbon bits that had fallen off as the front end was looking a tad scruffy!

The plan was to fix -

Carbon washer blank (loose)
Carbon fog light surround (fallen off)
Carbon splitter (broken)

Sorry for the terrible photos, my iPhone doesn't like the dark!

Pulling into the garage - scrape scrape scrape... :p

14030064589_0ef846d90d_c.jpg

I used some tiger seal to stick the fog light surround back on and some masking tape to secure it overnight -

Fog light surround and the broken splitter -

14216588355_7a6589ebe0_c.jpg

Poorly Clio all bandaged up!

14213193051_028f14cb24_c.jpg

I didn't take any photos attempting to fix the splitter. The carbon had splinted into so many pieces it was near impossible to put back together so I gave up and left it broken! :(

I'll take it off soon and replace it with a standard cup splitter hopefully :)

I think it's about time for another update on this thread.

On the 28th December, the East Midlands lot decided to organise a Christmas meal in Grantham. About 20 cars came along so it was a really good turnout! :)

I can't take any credit for these photo's as they were took by @Spinksy's missus but I'll put them on anyway ;)

The line up. (Not everyone parked up for photos) -

I promise I'll try and get back on track with the progress thread. There's so much that has changed with the Clio since these photos!

@-Danman- Your car looks awesome  , how easy was it to wrap the front and rear bumpers with the black as i am thinking of doing the same thing also what induction kit do you have it looks sweet

Thanks mate! I'm not gonna lie, wrapping the front bumper was a nightmare, I kept loosing patience so in the end my mum had to come and help! I haven't wrapped the rear bumper though, that's just a photoshop.

The induction kit is made by ITG, it's a foam filter inside. I really really need to update this thread, it's over a year out of date!

I am thinking of wrapping my front and rear in the same way  Got a company near me that do it quite cheap and have decent quality. I really love what you've done with your car so far, Im defo doing the wiper delete idea its looks miles smarter :p

I think I might try and revive this thread and catch up with all my progress. It's almost 2 years out of date and a lot has changed!

Here's a few of my favourite photos over the last couple of years and what it looks like at the moment -
