Whatsapped ya biatch!

Erm right so yesterday I went to my main man charlie at CSK fab in york. Properly sound guy who sorted my exhaust out, definitely don't go anywhere else now as he's cheap and does an incredible job and makes sure it's right but also treats you like a friend rather than a customer. I cannot emphasise enough how much I hate garage places that "book you in" and you have to sit in the waiting room watching tv or reading magazines that are stacked high. It makes me feel weird.

So he got me involved, definitely my bag and what I enjoy!!

I fitted a decat as obviously my exhaust died on track at Blyton so thanks to @Diesel Davis he sorted me out with a pipe cheap, cheers dude! :)

It didn't fit my powerflow exhaust as to be expected so took it to the above place to get sleeved. It now sounds brilliant, no blowing at all and actually not that louder than before.

Took a pic at work the other day, makes me laugh how small it looks compared to the corsa due to the perspective

I also fitted some rear powerflex black series rear strut bushes thanks to @M.A.C Came ridiculously quick too! :D

Not really been able to give it some beans due the weather and the awful awful tyres i've got on there. After the track day i've realised just how bad they are in comparison (I used my 16's with PS3's on there)

Today I went about lowering the steering wheel as it's pretty high with my bucket seats being so low!

Removed the trim to get to the bolts

This pic shows the bolt that I removed where the washers will be going to space it out

20150823_124615 by dann2707, on Flickr

I then loosened off the bottom two bolts just so I could pull the column down. Due to the angles, it means that when lowered the holes will not line up so out comes the dremel and I elongated the holes :)

I used longer bolts for this step obviously due to the washers taking up more length. Pic just shows the bolt I used. Luckily I had some spare from fitting the buckets

Does it feel different? Better?

Much better mate. I feel like i'm driving a go kart now! It's amazinggggg.

Okay so my life is changing atm, i'm finally moving out and moving closer to work meaning I won't have the commute of 70 miles a day which was totalling around £70 ish in fuel a week as I drove to the gym too.

As a result of this i'm going to start saving for turbo parts. I need to do a hell of a lot of research into it. It's going to be expensive but rather than paying someone else to do it. I'd much rather say... 3 months buy a turbo, then the manifold a month later, intercooler the next month just in dribs and drabs.

I'm not really sure how to go about things so will be nagging a lot of people on here who's already done a diy conversion.

I'm aiming for 300bhp so forged internals are a definite go go.

Just thought i'd update my current plans :)

Seems like i'm not updating this as much lately, I think it's because the majority of the jobs are done pretty much which is perfect as winter is coming for sure.

Start off with a pic in the car park the other day

Up in Leeds we had awful rain the other day and I came to the car and realised the light had done this :(

The covers are in place at the back of the units too

20150905_150001 by dann2707, on Flickr

I got a hair dryer behind and dried it out although it's left some water marks in there. I've just come to it now and it's done it mildly again :( Really annoyed as it ruins the look of the whole car

Did a few odd jobs today whilst I had some free time. After Blyton Park the brakes looked like this, they were silver at the start of the year

21144138226_d42c9650b7_b.jpg
20150905_152018 by dann2707, on Flickr

The rear brakes were collecting rust on the edge of the disc like so

20982464118_da2c50b25a_b.jpg
20150905_153924 by dann2707, on Flickr

so I wire brushed it making it a tad neater

20150905_153927 by dann2707, on Flickr

And out with the trusty wirebrush and hammerite smooth I went over the brakes again

Whilst the wheels were off I gave them a good clean too. They were absolutely filth, haven't washed the car in 3 weeks or so. It might even be 4

Tempted to paint the lips of the rear discs in hammerite now actually as you can see the rusty edges.

Also I noticed that one of the rear strut nuts wasn't as tight as i'd like. So I nipped it up. It looked like this before

Now it looks like this

HOWEVER, only one of them goes this far, the other won't budge and is like the initial pic so this is confusing me. What is wrong? surely they should tighten up the same amount?

@M.A.C what were they like for you? Have I fitted them correctly?

i feel your pain on the headlight situation dude! i bought a set of 172 headlights for my rep, dont know what happened between me buying them but the passenger side one has proper dribble ass stains on the inside, ruins the look completely. given up on cleaning the front end for it, all about the sides and rear haha.
only thing i could think of was to heat gun the edges and open the case, clean it properly then tigerseal the whole thing back up properly. However thats a whole day job and i cba with it anymore since buying the 182.

That's commitment mate, removing the whole brake calipers to paint them silver! I just painted what I could see :) ha.

Bad news about the headlight too. Presumed it was due to the lack of rubber cap but as you said, they are in place. Strange one really.

It's only a bumper off and removal of the headlamp. It shouldn't take that long, I did it today in no time. I know mines a ph1 but it can be done in good time. The gum on the headlights is forever sticky so you won't need to tiger seal them back up IMO. I never did.

Definitely paint the lips of the discs Dan, it'll look better.

As if it's been 2 weeks since I last updated. I'm still absolutely loving the car, i'm not losing interest. I've just been spending lots of time driving it :) It doesn't really need much work doing to it tbh apart from maybe changing the tyres to something better as these are f**king shocking for spirited driving as said countless times before.

I hadn't washed Boris for over a month :( so finally got the mitt out and gave her a decent clean. The last one for a while as i'm taking him off the road for a bit whilst living away from 'ome!

This is shown here haha, thought it looked like a good shot despite looking grubby as f**k.

Can't believe he's nearly on 103k miles now :( I bought him on 87k around 14 months ago. Time has flown by so much. cs 4 lyf y0

My 195 50 15 ad08r's will be for sale this week dan 6-7mm tread £160 to you if interested
I probably would be if Dan isn't.
Ns2r on my f1s are a bit dodgy, not sure if their warped/distored or something as I get vibration through wheel with them fitted. Only just been balanced.
So am on lookout for decent bargain track rubber. [emoji4]

Jesus long time no update.

I haven't done much to the car lately. Barely even driven it but today I came home to my parents for a deep clean. Clayed glazed and waxed, restoring the trim too.

Fitted a new gear knob also but I'll get pics of that up tomorrow.

Ended up polishing and waxing in tesco car park. No comments about the parking please as I just nipped in that area for those pics and then drove off ;)

Looking well, I desperately need to do mine so it's properly sealed for winter.

Thanks mate!

Tiny update, although hopefully if the postman is nice he'll deliver something today

Sprayed my upper grill black as before it looked like this - A kind of off grey which didn't match the fog surround or lower grill as shown.

Mine looks awful against the black car...

I was gonna get black stuff to spray but been told not to as it should be a dark grey with the speckles in?
