When the hell is your spoiler going to be on the car??

I told the sprayer to not worry about it over Xmas and just do it when he can. I've just sent him a message though asking when it might be done :) I kept forgetting over xmas it is still to go on, along with the washer blanks so that'll be a nice addition soon.

Got a bumper quote respray for £120 from a guy that is apparently really good so that will be done soon too :)

I had a go at debobbling the seats properly too! Really good for £4.50 delivered I think it was.

Wrey, just debobbled mine the other day, makes such a difference. Did you ask for it for xmas or is that just me haha

It does doesn't it! Love the sound it makes too when it's removing the bobbles. I just spontaneously bought mine haha

debobbled lol.
i like that word. where can i get a debobbler for debobbleing for when my seats get bobbly?

Hahaha here ya go man

The fact there is a make an offer just makes me laugh, it's only £4.85

@MrTom as above mate!!

lmao ^^

Today I removed these rubber shields for the rear as the rear is still fairly high up even though the adjusters are at the lowest they can go. I'm not sure if it will make much difference to the ride height but they are 6mm thick each (not sure how much that equates to when it's being compressed under the load of the car as it issssss rubber) :

These are how they are, I don't really want to remove them as that kind of defeats the purpose of having coilovers :p Incy might have seen these pics before ;)

Still haven't looked at mine, pretty sure I kept the upper rubber and 'skat' the lower one so the top one still buffers a bit instead of knocking.... I could be fully talking shite though, will check for sure later!

Cheers guys! Will have to keep an eye on it. Hopefully it won't give me any knocks or anything.

Today I received this  It's my one of many Christmas presents to myself lol

Shiny parts. Opted for a momo boss with it having the larger cut outs for all 4 plugs (2 airbags, 1 horn and 1 cruise control stalk) and also the self cancelling indicator tabs on the back.

Ordered an airbag light cancelling kit too that comes with a fused resistor. Luckily the momo boss came with one anyway, as I needed two that was spot on!

Tyres are being fitted Friday and i've got a new Richbook ball gearknob on the way to fit to my Scenic gear stick with the StiffShift 3.0 kit that is also on its way! Ordered some RenaultSport mats from eBay too with black material, grey leather trim, grey logo and grey stitching hoping it's all going to take shape on the inside soon. Wallet has taken a right hammering lately but may as well do it now while i'm young before i'm constrained to having a mortgage, kids and wife lol

And got some Black series powerflex inner ARB bushes as mine are absolutely knackered. Can see the rubber has all cracked and split.

  RB Clio 182
It was £74 for the wheel (it's a racing GP if you're on the lookout) and £60 for the boss!

They do an omp deal on eBay for £109 for it all but the omp boss won't cancel your indicators. Thought I'd do it properly first time around

Thats not too bad, i might get one instead of having my steering wheel re trimmed.

Whats the difference between yours and the one above?

Im not clue'd up at all on steering wheels lol.

You can leave them rubber bits out, it'll be fine mate. If anything you'll hear a few dings and dongs as the rear springs move, but it's nothing to worry about. Btw, 6mm thickness equates to around 10-12mm at the wheel arch mate. It's all about the spring location so I won't bother you with the boring details.

Rubber bits = f**k em off!

I love the boring details :D If you've got time and can be bothered i'd genuinely like to know, always up for learning!

Guessing it's something to do with the ratios/ pivot point? As it's completely different to the fronts which are on a 1:1 ratio when you adjust the cups?

Yeah it's the motion ratio mate. They're about 1.7:1 on the rear beam when I calculated it.
So to put that into some sort of perspective a 250lb rear spring in the original position is only a 167lb spring by the time the wheel sees it. Make sense? The fronts are 1:1 so a 450lb spring is exactly the same rate at the wheel (well not quite as you've got to take into consideration the dampers not vertical so some of the spring effort is used to overcome this!) lol!

Next up is roll centres, but there's a big 27 odd page group buy thread about them so I'll leave you to have a look at that!

Currently having the new tyres put on the rear and the car is on a level surface again and despite the cups being wound down equally the same to the bottom the offside rear is a lot lower!! This is so annoying!

I was thinking could the fuel in the tank be causing this or is the tank equally positioned in the car?

One thing I noticed the other day when removing the rubber cups was that when jacking up the rear beam on the left side under the spring the rear beam moved and the car didn't like it was nice and free. However when jacking the right side up under the spring the whole car moved up not the rear beam as if it was stiff? Does this make sense and maybe a contributing factor to the ride height issues? Maybe bushes are shot? @incy-spider @Cub. @bashracing

Fuel in the tank won't cause it mate as the fuel tank is mounted under the rear seat base.

I can't see the bushes being knackered in the rear beam causing it either tbh.
Have you tried disconnecting the rear dampers where the bolt on at the rear beam, then jacking up each side? Have both dampers got pressure in them? I know they're brand new, but that's not to say one couldve failed.

Only other thing after that is leave them disconnected and put the car on stands under the sills. That way you'll see if the rear beam will drop down under its own weight and pivot. If it doesn't it could well be the bolt has seized into the bush and stopping it from moving. I highly doubt this would be the case though tbh.

You do know that by replying with a great and logical answer you will now be including in my @ing's for when I have a mechanical issue Northcuploop :p haha

I shall have a go at this tonight after shopping. Thanks! So when I jack each side up with the shockers disconnected I should be looking to see if the beam moves freely? Am I to say I should put a bit of pressure on them downwards to see if it moves easily? I know from doing the springs before I really had to push down on one side for it to let go so I could get the spring out, should this be really smooth?

Sorry for all the questions @NorthloopCup

Yeah you should find the axle drops like a stone with nothing supporting it as @incy-spider has said.

Just got in from doing this and you were right yeah, they dropped easily and when lifting the wheel up it was nice and smooth for both. I'm not sure what was going on the other night then!

One thing I did notice was the spring platform on the rear beam has a raised bit on each side, it doesn't look like it's supposed to be there as it's very rough and not an obvious shape like a spring seat normally is. It's almost like rust under the black paint that has raised up. Maybe if the spring is catching on that it's raising the car up?!

So my @Yanoo Stiff Shift 3.0 kit arrived  Which as I posted before I was planning on fitting to a Megane Scenic shifter as it's longer.

So anyway today I started fitting it. Fitting went fairly smoothly, I ended up snapping a tab that holds the lift up reverse cable to the actual shaft as I was fitting the kit, I was putting lots of pressure on it and it finally gave way and fitted into the gearstick housing and whilst doing so that's when one snapped. I fabricated a bracket though which works perfectly however for peace of mine I will just replace the lift up reverse bit on the shaft when I can.

Anyway, started removing the cat. Can't believe how easy this came off to say how rusted it looked. No problems what so ever. The gasket looked a little, worn though?? haha

Went for a drive after and it feels amazing! Lovely and stiff but the best thing is that I can adjust how stiff I want the gear changes. Before, I could wobble the gearstick when it was in gear in every direction but now it barely moves at all. Very very happy! Just waiting on my gearknob now to finish it all off

Hi Dann just wondering does it worry you not having a drivers airbag? I've looked at aftermarket wheels but I like the idea of a safety feature such as an airbag and not sure I'd be happy without...
