Clio mk2 advice

Hey all very soon im going to be purchasing another clio...updating from a mk1 ph2 1997 model to the mk2 shape! I have a choice between two cars mk2 ph1 mk2 ph2...mk2 ph1 is a 1998-2000 1.4 s....the other mk2 ph 2 2003 1.2 16v......In my oponion i much prefere the mk2 ph 2 1.2 16v due to the headlight lift and interior improvement...i just need some advice on the main differences..costs....problems.and which one of the two would you choose! I also have driven the 1.2 16v and it drives like a dream compared to my 1.2 8v...so anyone who owns a Sport mk2 ph 1 model please share some info! Soz if this has come up hundreds of times before...i just dont wanna rush into buying a car! thx !!!

Since neither has a warently the less complex electrics are easier to fix
