Clio Breakers

  Renault Clio MK4 RS
Hi all,

Ive been calling breakers all yesterday and today and its amazing how much of them sell out so quickly of parts for the Mk2 Ph2 Clio parts.

I called one that was local to me yesterday because he had just got a clio in the day before and after not one day of it being on ebay he actually said he had practically sold the whole car apart from a few little bits left. I was trying to get hold of a passenger side rear seatbelt buckle and he said that he had sold the whole rear seatbelts and buckles etc an hour earlier and then i asked about foglights, black mirror covers, hazard switch, front bumper and he had sold all of them earlier on in the day and was packaging most of them up. I find the odd few that are selling the parts i want but are charging a fortune for them which is why they barely sell them!

Just shows how much interest there are for clios being broken for parts or it just shows clios break way to easily! ;)

They're lying. Takes ages to shift bits like that. They've probably gone in the bin.

I asked one breaker who was selling a 2003 clio 1.2 to see if he had a hazard switch and he said it would be £20 posted?! thats shocking and i bet he still has the whole car outside sat there rusting away because he is trying to sell the parts for way more than they are worth but some people dont really rush to sell the bits and try get their moneys worth with it i suppose. Ill give renparts a call and see if they have what i want in stock but i think ive got what im after as the only urgent one i want is a rear seatbelt buckle for its mot in a few weeks as ive just bought a hazard switch off ebay for £8 posted which isnt to bad :)

As above they are fobbing you off, one they can't shift theose sort of items quick.

They also won't sell the covers off the mirrors as it makes the rest of the unit worthless.

Also won't sell part of the seat belt mechanism as they can make more from a complete set, also has the car been in some sort of collision?if so are you allowed to sell seatbelts/parts due to strees/strain of the accident?

I know i wouldn't....

Get a laguna hazard switch they are a bit more robust and don't fail as much so i'm told..

I don't know part numbers or the ins and outs but......
Phone Adam on 01902 439264 Works at the renault parts supply base Tell him that you need a new hazard switch and have heard about the laguna one.

Do they charge a lot for the parts or are they fairly cheap? :)

Adam is at the Main Renault parts dealership and i use him for all my parts that're brand new. Because his prices are dirt cheap.

Renparts are pretty fairly priced to be honest. there's bit's you'll see on eBay etc, which are a couple of quid cheaper (never a lot more), but you never know how they've been taken off (with/without care) so it's good to get them from someone who specialises in it!

I'm sure a lot of the lads on here would vouch with me when i say i've never had any problems from either!

ahh well i got the hazard switch from ebay as if its been removed from the car and working its not that bad. But if its seat belts i get were you are coming from as i know that if they have been in a crash then they will be worse than ones that havent been so ill give him a call tomorrow when i get time, Thanks for the help guys :)
