clio 197 grinding noise

has anyone come across a grinding noise coming from there gearbox. only when in gear. ive been told syncromesh?

any ideas.

ah 29,000 and i dont realy thrash is honestly. ave got a new gearbox lined up for 300.00 just wanting to no more

Is it still in warrenty? Get it back to them if it is.

Saying that seeing as your already lining up a new one i take it it isnt.

I think i'm right in saying that common gearbox probs on 197's seem to have the 3rd gear involved somewhere.

well i seems to sometimes stick when going into gears and also snap out when your going to change also when your not giving it any juice i can hear a rattle/grinding noise
