Clicking noise from front passenger wheel area

Ive just read threads dating back to 2008 and Im still non the wiser

Basically, I have had my 40mm springs and 172 alloys fitted today, now when I picked it up it was fine but its since developed a clicking noise when driving around.

The way I would describe the noise is like a cable tie being hit by the wheel each rotation but quite loud, Ive had a look and couldnt see anything the wheels could be catching on, the drivers side is fine no noise at all.

It also gets faster when the speed increses and im pretty sure it stops when I break either that or its a coincidence

Going to take it back to the garage tomorrow but just wondered if anyone had any ideas to help me?

Thanks as usual

Paul :)

couldnt be a stone in the tread? id check that and acheck the discs/pads too, maybe jack it up and spin the wheel then follow the noise (if its still there without a load)

ive had the EXACT same problem mate, I took my wheel off, put it back on again, and it was fine. I think the problem is if the nuts are not torqued up properly. Its worth a shot anyways

Had it back in the garage today to see what it could be my mechanic recons its the back left wheel making the noise, he had a nosey up on the ramp but couldnt figure out what it was at all so its going back in tomorrow.

Im hoping it isnt the brakes as I've had new disks and pads fitted all round about a month and a half ago. I've just tried to take the wheel off and put it back in but I cant shift the nuts so I'll get him to try that tomorrow.

if its the front get it up on axel stands start it and put it in first let the wheels turn and find the source :)

Right today had it back in the garage as It hasnt managed to be fixed yet

I've had the back wheels off,
New pads fitted on the rear and all regreased etc
Disks checked - these were new 2 months ago anyway and are fine apparantly
Wheel back on

It seems to have quietened it down a little but the noise is still there

I dont know if it will make a different but the wheels are powdercoated? Im now stumped and so is my mechanic

There arent really any specialists near me and I dont fancy going on an 1hr + drive with the noise if I'm honest so any suggestions on what to try would be great

you should be able to find it just by the noise mate, even if you just get a friend to push the car whilst you walk along and listen/look for where the noise is coming from.

other than that? pass

Sorry to bump this

The clicking noise from the rear is back and louder, it went through a stage of quitening down but has decided to come back

Im now pretty certain its the back, it seems to be clicking in time to wheel rotation and is on both sides, so this to me would rule out things like the wheel nuts and discs etc?

if anyone can help with what it could be I would appreciate it

Thanks

Paul :D
