Can you educate me on Clio's

I'm new to Clio's and I see posts about 197's,182 and 172's also something called a cúp?.
I have seen Clio's with the exhaust pipes far apart (like my GT) then some with the pipes in the centre of the rear of the car. would this help me to identify basically Clio's I see on the road?
Its just that I like to learn about a marque when I buy a car.

Don't forget Trophy's. Only came in red, was a special edition of the 182.

Clio 197 R27 (F1 Team special edition) - Identifiable by stickers (although some chose to remove them at the spec stage). Came in a variety of colours, Liquid Yellow (LY) was special to this model on the 197s. Came with upgraded chassis, recaro's, anthracite wheels, uprated brakes, etc. as standard.
