Caliper slide bolt question

  Black Gold 182 ff
Hi,

I'm in the middle of changing the front discs and pads on my 182 and have a question about the caliper carrier slide bolts...

...when pushed in fully (off the car) are they supposed to spring out a little? The bottom ones seem to but the top ones don't. Is this normal or have the springs gone?

Cheers,
Kris

Yes, they are supposed to pop back a little but there are no springs. Chances are the top one needs cleaning up and re-greasing

Thanks mate. Yeah, will certainly be cleaning and re-greasing everything; one of the lower slide bolts was rusted solid . How do they spring back if there are no springs?!

The grease being tightly packed in acts to force it back out - What you need is for the slider to move backwards and forwards freely without any sticking to allow them to do there job.
