Cable may of snapped?!?!

I would check to see if there is any tension in the cable.

Maybe it is a loose shoe inside one of the drums ... I had that problem on my 2002 1.5 DCI. The rear tire was totally blocked.

Seized rear shoes. If they're old & starting to crack, they'll come off the metal itself, move round for about a yard, then jam up. Mk2 Clios do it quite a bit.
