Damn, nearly 2 pages without any pictures I was trying not to let that happen!

WOW our little thread's gone mad with support, cheers everyone really appreciate it! Can't wait to get the car weighed and see what it finally comes in at. I'd really like to be bellow 800kg which i think would be pretty impressive for a car with a cage.If it were getting anywhere near 750kg i'd be a very very happy man indeed.

It's great to read the posts about handling because I suffer every time i go to the pub with my mates (all big V8 types) Saying the car will be deadly due to the lack of weight and it's hard to listen to without getting a bit worried.

LOL, you'd run rings around their lardy asses. I can't understand why people think light weight cars won't handle :S

To say I'm envious of what you have there is a massive understatement! Is it just for track shennanigans or are you going to compete with it? Will I get to film it in action for as long as I can stay in touch (probably not long) on track somewhere?

Absolutely immense read boys!

Been reading every post since god knows what time this morning.

A lesson to us all in what time, patience, a heap of skill and some big balls can achieve....

Just needs some lex-arse lights to finish the rear off now. Lol:quiet: :nono:

Progress from this weekend is small to say the least owing to a friends wedding and the aftermarth meaning neither of us were in any way fit to work on the car.
But we did manage to get down the garage and get something done, we managed to fit the repeaters.

Right!! I've been basically messing about in my lunch breaks and i'm pretty happy with what i've achieved. Basically I started with a set of standard 1.2 door badges.

Photo-0046.jpg

Then i filed, sanded and ground the centre sections out.

Photo-0047.jpg

Next I cut a small peice of carbon fibre from some spare i have in my toolbox sanded it into shape and bonded into the recess i'd made. Sounds simple but was a real pain!

Fitted. Chuffed!

RIGHT! Back again and with a slightly larger update this time. The day started with the tailgate spoiler, stage 1 was to try the brackets on that i made at work in my lunch breaks and adjusting them where neccissary.

111020081242.jpg

111020081244.jpg

Then once we were completely happy with them we drilled the tailgate, gave them a coat of paint and rivted them on with soft ally rivets

111020081246.jpg

111020081249.jpg

With those in place a thin line of screen primer and glue along the inside and on goes the spoiler. With some creative ways of keeping it tight on the tailgate while it goes off.

111020081250.jpg

And an hour or so later the big reveal and it looks very neat.

Next job was no fun at all!!!! We had to fit the drivers window which the more eagle eyed amongst you might have noticed we didn't manage last time after a catastrophy ended up with us both covered in glue and a big gap where we wanted the window to be.

111020081254.jpg

So tomorrow we can hopefully whip all the rubbish off and wash our hands of the door glasses once and for all!

Another silly little job out the way but worth doing...

More tomorrow fella's.

Well today really isn't a massive update purely because there isn't really any massive jobs still to do. We started off by peeling off the tape and suckers off the drivers window which thank god are fitted nicely now.

121020081266.jpg

121020081267.jpg

Next we started with a couple of little asthetic jobs which have been on our minds for a while now. First thing to do was remove the tailgate and rubber.

121020081269.jpg

121020081270.jpg

121020081268.jpg

After that we masked up all the areas we didn't want to end up with paint on which was most of the car lol

121020081272.jpg

121020081271.jpg

Quick scotch brite and a nice even coat of satin black. JOB DONE!

121020081273.jpg

121020081274.jpg

121020081275.jpg

121020081277.jpg

Next thing we did was, while the tailgate was off, was to texture the bottom edge of the tailgate to really finish the rear of the car.
We masked everything up.

121020081278.jpg

121020081280.jpg

Scotched it, painted it,

121020081281.jpg

Then promptly found out it wasn't dry and ruined it

121020081282.jpg

Round 2 went much better and we got the tailgate on

121020081283.jpg

PMSL!!! Didn't think it'd be long before someone noticed but i thought I'd wait until someone did. Basically the rear wheels are on a pair of haynes manuals as a very unscientific way of working out our ride height issue. The rear is definately 1 haynes manual (20mm ish) lower than the front so we'll be dropping the front another 20mm rather than raise the rear.

Cheers for coming down today wayne it was great to show you round the car, think when it's on the road i'll pop up and take alook around your secret car laboritory LOL.

I'm afraid first trackday will need to be early next year as the final push to get the car finished is gonna leave me with a few hefty bills to clear up but that'll give me time to get to know it's little qwerks (sp) on the road.

Pm'ed you on williams northy ;)
