4 year old Renault fails MOT shocker

Had MOT booked this morning, changed brake light and usual checks done so fingers crossed all should be good. Went to collect car and sorry it's failed. The near side rear brake was binding. Guys in the garage stripped it down and found it to be brake pad stuck in caliper. Took it out and cleaned it and job's a good un. Extra £30.00 on price of MOT but suppose mustn't grumble could have been worse.

Rear calipers are made by TRW i believe. virtually identical part as fitted to the Mini's etc. Not great but these things do happen on all cars. a mechanical moving part may need some maintenence after 4 years.

I get all the brakes serviced once a year, just a strip down etc. The pads seize especially in the Brembos
