I just had a pleasent supprise,

I'm 19, currently got a 2003 clio 1.2 billabong, passed my test november 08.

Got untill febuary untill I get my first years no claims, but when I do (touch wood)

Just got a quote of £1,252.86 on a 2002 172 cup from performance direct

I'm currently paying £1500 on my 1.2! looks like I may be changing in feb!

they are a bunch of dickheads tho - cheap for me on my old 172 but couldnt for the lfie of them get documents correct - took milioons of phone calls and them sending out stuff wrong several times

 They wouldn't quote me because I had no performance car experience. Chris Knott are the same.

I'm 20 with 1 year NCD and one claim and I'm paying just under £800 for a brand new 1.2. I'll be waiting a couple of years to get some more NCD before I start buying quicker cars.

sp50, first 3months of driving, got caught doing 96 in my 1.2 clio, since then had a 1.8tdci focus and a fiesta st and havent had any points since!
post code is hu15 1sr

Hull post code but you're in Colchester?

Trophy quote for me is £800, Megane r26 was £920 at 22 with 2 yncb.

That's dirt cheap, What's your post code rating for insurance?

I'm 21 and paying about £1000 for the 182 and I'm 21 with 3 NCB's also.

I am intrigued by some of the companies people get these ultra low quotes from. Its as if they don't have any belief that young drives are statistically going to have a claim.

Im with Quinn Direct, 20 with a 03 1.6 Clio, 1 NCB and im paying about £1350, 0 points and no claims

  Fiesta ST2
thats crap dude guess you shouldnt have got points :p

even though i crashed (skidded on ice) i can still get insurance on a 197 for £2k fully comp with ncb next year its due to be £1,200

Laughing hard at some of the fools in this thread with points/written off cars on their license and moaning about insurance.

I'm 18 and pay £950 on a 1.2 clio, which I still think is extortionate tbh.

used plenty of comparison websites (go compare, confused, beat that quote ect ect).

got some great tips off parkers to get it down thou gonna get some more quotes :D.

Best tip - don't use comparison websites, they're w*nk and charge you extra. Try Bell/Elephant/Adrian Flux direct on their website if you haven't already. I'm 18 with 3 points and I'm only paying £970 fully comp on a modified 1.2 with Elephant.

Arron, did you try any specialists as Kwik Fit (and the compare websites) are very main-stream.

I'm pretty certain you can get it much lower than £3k TPFT by using a specialist.
