172 mk1 superchip

Has anyone had a superchip fitted to their mk1 172 ?

Did it do anything ? or is it a total waste of money ?

Doesnt it raise the rev limit and give a smoother torque curve?

I had one fitted a couple of years ago - it gave 7bhp extra at the wheels and felt generally more torquey, but it ran really bad on normal unleaded afterwards (it even stalled while idling once!) The rev limit remained the same and the fuel economy took a dive. It was removed when my car was in for a service once and I decided to just leave it that way! I wouldnt personally advise wasting money on a Superchip - I recently fitted a Devil cat-back unsilenced, unhomolgated exhaust and the car now feels much better than it did with the chip!
