1.6 Lumpy Idle

Had a problem a little while with my 1.6, seems to be lumpy when idling every few second car sound like it's gonna stall, revs drop below 500 but then rise again at same time as revs drop theres a little pop noise from exhaust, seems ok from cold but does it when warm can feel it through car.

Had it in dealer for it twice, they changed throttle body, and fitted a new coil pack, seemed to cure it for a while.

Had a 36k service yesterday (which included new spark plugs) and it's started doing it again.

Just wondered if anybody has had and had cured the same problem at all?

Try Cleaning Or Changing The Idle Control Valve

my 1.2 was doing that they changed the coilpack which didnt fix it but then it stoped it the next day?!

I think i'll drop it in at dealer again then, or just put it down to a "Renaultism"

i know of cars to have the pop in the exhaust from the timing belt.

Problem solved by Harratts of Pontefract!

When Dixon Barnsley serviced car on saturday they didn't gap the spark plug on cylinder 4 properly causing a slight misfire!
