Morning all, just a quick one, is the wiper linkage on a 197/200 the same as a normal say 1.2 mk3 clio? Anyone have a part number handy, and what you say is an average price used one?

Yea been reading, helicoils are no good, timeserts are the way to go for future reference.
Anyways the plug nipped up so I may have been lucky. Changed the lead and put it all back together in between the rain and it's running fine, tapping noise is gone too I'll give it till the weekend and...
Coils and plugs should be here tha morra, engines been tapping for a while, thought it was the tappets, so hopefully it's just come loose and not damages the threads.

Typical just MOTd the car and a week later boom. Driving along happy as Larry and it starts backfiring like a racecar and idling at like 3k. Luckily a was 2 secs away from home. Plugged my code reader in and nothing(eBay job)
Took the inlet off and bam one ht lead chowd to bits and the plug...
I did try earlier, just tried again, a bit stuck for places to clamp to on the body that isnt painted but managed to find a large nut to clamp to and it turned over normally :o) it would have fired i think if it was clamped in a better place and i kept at it.

Thanks renmatt, I'm starting to think it's an earth fault now. Put a new fully charged battery in, cleaned the tdc sensor too to no avail. Checked the battery earth which the top of the bolt snapped off when I was removing it so relocated it and cleaned it.
Now the interiesting bit haha...
Quick update, starter motor came today so I poped it in and bolted everything back up, exactly the same :mad: Should have probably done this first but i went and bought a new battery, its currently on charge we will see how that fairs.
Slowly running out of ideas, any help would be appreciated...
Started after a couple of mins this morning, same old clicking, ran over to the garage and they seem to think its the starter motor too but are busy till next Tuesday, so out come the halfords pro tool kit and 3 hours later BOOM
Tried to start it before I left for work last night, made a little video to see if anyone can confirm the problem before I attempt to remove the starter motor haha
just a quick update, car wont start at all now, starter motor clicks every now and again.

I have earthed the battery with a jump lead
Visual check of TDC, looks fairly new (dosent mean much but looks ok)

Hi, problem started yesterday when I was at b&q, put the key in and all I got was a random clicking noise, anyhow after keeping the key turned for some time it fired to life but left these two lights on (see pic)

Hi, I'm just about to change my rear caliper as it's sticking, I've got a used one and I'm just trying to work out how the handbrake cable goes through the caliper to reach the arm. Does my caliper look right or should it be different?
Doesn't seem to have happend again, strange, I will too it up when my coolant arrives and keep an eye on it. Is it a radiator with aircon u have?

Hi, just after opinions on this
Pulled up at work the other day and noticed a little bit steam coming from the front grille. Opend it up to find what looks like coolant dried all over this pipe as if its been blown onto it. I can only presume its come from the top of the radiator? The fluid...
Changed oil and filter and fitted new washer motor for the xenons. Everything went OK considering Ive never done any of it before :o) Need to think of next challenge haha
Hi, not so long ago my rear calliper stuck and the brakes wore down and got brake dust all over the rear quater of my car and the rear bumper. It does rub off but with some effort. Can anyone suggest a product or an easy way to remove this without ruining the paintwork, cheers :approve:.
