UCH fault? Chattering relay knocking out electrics

I never did fix mine, the engine blew up and I sold it for scrap.

UCH Clicking Relay - flashing lights - juddering wipers- juddering window - solved

Re: UCH Clicking Relay - flashing lights - juddering wipers- juddering window - solv My problem is back too, after going away for several months again. My gut feeling about it being an earth problem may have been right though, as on the MOT last week, the MOT tester found that the bolt...

Electrical gremlins - bad earth? UCH functions and foglight affected.

Mmm, no harm in doing that... I think it's a multi-layer PCB tho, so I'd be lucky to find anything, but I'll ask the botanist in work if he has a magnifying glass I can borrow. Thanks! :)

Electrical gremlins - bad earth? UCH functions and foglight affected.

My alternator was playing up last year too - I replaced it and it solved the UCH clicking for over 6 months!!! Or it may have been coincidence... I just tried the spare UCH in mine, and I couldn't get it to do the clicking, so I really do think it is the UCH on mine. Flexing the board...

Electrical gremlins - bad earth? UCH functions and foglight affected.

I had all the earths checked by an independent Renault specialist, and he confirmed it is the UCH :( I can just about get away with it at the mo by flexing the board in a certain way but that's a poor fix! I've got another UCH that I'm planning to do exactly the same as you - check if that UCH...

UCH Clicking Relay - flashing lights - juddering wipers- juddering window - solved

Re: UCH Clicking Relay - flashing lights - juddering wipers- juddering window - solv You know the UCH is coded to the car, so it won't start with the wrong UCH in, yes? I bought a spare UCH for mine cos there's a guy near me who'll desolder the immobiliser chip and put it on another board for...

Electrical gremlins - bad earth? UCH functions and foglight affected.

I've had an intermittent problem with my UCH for about a year, but it's so intermittent that I'm loathe to spend ~£400 on it in case it is a symptom, not a cause. It's playing up a lot at the mo (a relay starts chattering, which knocks out the lights, windows, wipers and indicators), but it...

UCH Clicking Relay - flashing lights - juddering wipers- juddering window - solved

Re: UCH Clicking Relay - flashing lights - juddering wipers- juddering window - solv I've got exactly the same problem as you. I've been posting about it off an on for about a year, and still not got to the bottom of it. I'm not convinced enough that it's the UCH to go and spend several...

UCH N3 Part no's and doing the swap.

ETA I've read somewhere that the ECU doesn't need changing as the transponder ring just sends the signal that the key has the right chip, so I hope that's true, would make life easier!

UCH N3 Part no's and doing the swap.

I need a new UCH for my car, old UCH no P8200272302A. I've just bought a new set (inc ignition barrel etc) but the part number is without the A, so just P8200272302. They're both N3 ver 5.2 tho. Anyone know the difference or if it should be ok? I've got two choices at the mo, swapping the...

Do these wheels fit the dci80?

Haha, you'll be sorry you asked - it's a minger!! Wheels seem fine tho :D Thanks for the help :)

Do these wheels fit the dci80?

The tight spot is between the inner lip of the alloy rim and the strut - there's not quite enough room for my to slip my (skinnyish!) finger in there. They're all on - I'll take it out for a quick spin to see if it feels ok.

Do these wheels fit the dci80?

I've just started fitting these wheels to my Clio: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221232960693 They're 195/45 R16 on a 7J rim, in place of the 185/55 R15 6J Dynamique wheels that were on there before. The front one that I've just fitted seems very close to the suspension...

UCH fault? Chattering relay knocking out electrics

Ugh... gave me 6 months of peace, then back with a vengeance today, along with big clouds of black smoke (EGR valve I think) and finally the back wheel locking on me (detached brake shoe I think). Well they do say things come in 3s, but I could cheerfully have dragged it straight to a scrappy...

UCH fault? Chattering relay knocking out electrics

I saw the video - it does look exactly the same as the problem I was having. Mine's not doing it any more tho. When I listened really closely and used my finger to feel where the clicking was coming from, it seemed to be coming from one of the relays affixed to the side of the UCH box. I...

Alternator help please - loose connection or needs replacement?

Hiya, I'd be grateful for any help please for this damsel in distress . My battery light and stop light started flickering a couple of days ago, and gradually stayed on more and more until it was lit most of the time. Voltage with the car running was ~12v when the battery light was on...

What are the relays that are attached to the UCH?

Oh bum, back to the UCH then, as I feared!

What are the relays that are attached to the UCH?

Hiya, just an update to this thread: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?666278-UCH-fault-Chattering-relay-knocking-out-electrics I'm not so sure it's the UCH at fault now - I've stripped the UCH right back to the circuit board and refitted it, and it now sounds as tho the clicking is...

    Project: BMW E21.

Ooh, lovely, I used to have an E21 316 too!! You can make the back step out, no problem, or mine would anyway. IIRC the tyres weren't that wide so could lose grip quite easily when you wanted it to :)

Fixing screwdrivered passenger door lock - best way?

Edit to say that I've just removed the shrapnel from just inside the lock with tweezers, and it does still work on the key. Damn, shoulda done that before taking it out!! Anyway, now it's out, any idea how to swap the internals from this lock into another one that hasn't been wrecked? Cheers :)

Fixing screwdrivered passenger door lock - best way?

Hiya, someone has had a go at the passenger door lock on my Clio (before I bought it), but with the central locking playing up, I really need to fix it, lol!! This is what the 'orrible scrote did: Is there a way to get a new lock working with my existing keys (retumbling the lock, or trying...

UCH fault? Chattering relay knocking out electrics

Urgh, nearly 4 hrs away :( Thanks for your advice tho! :) £380 is utterly out of the question I'm afraid - I'd rather break the car. I've only had the thing a week and already wish I'd never laid eyes on it, the amount of problems I've had!! I've found that hitting it is currently working...

UCH fault? Chattering relay knocking out electrics

Just an update, Renault said they'd charge £68+vat to read the fault codes, but the local auto electrician quoted £30 so I took it to him. False economy I think tho, cos he didn't pick up any faults from the UCH, just that my glow plugs weren't happy! So I guess my choices now are: 1) take it...

UCH fault? Chattering relay knocking out electrics

Thanks for all replies, gonna try taking it to an auto-electrician today. Those of you who just have a singular fault, e.g. lights, might be worth having a read of p.132 of this, if you're electrically minded? http://www.getflat.co.uk/phcdownload/upload/manuals/clio2/MR346CLIO8.pdf Also...

UCH fault? Chattering relay knocking out electrics

Hiya, hoping for some help (again!!) with this flipping Clio! :? ;) Sometimes when I'm driving it, a relay near the UCH area (can't pinpoint which one as I'm driving!) starts chattering like mad, and affects the electrics (definitely central locking, indicators and electric windows, maybe...

    Cabasse Auditorium

Hiya, sorry to bump this thread after so long, but I'm just about to replace my Tuner List with a Cabasse Tuner List, and came upon this thread. The quote above confuses me - the one in the link is the same as the one that I've just bought and says "Cabasse Auditorium Tronic" on it, yet the...
