I've got access to an industrial 3D printer and I've been making Clio bits on it. Next on my list is a gauge pod, I wondered where people prefer these? I've looked and I can decide between the very top centre of dash where that little rubber mat is, or cut the screen out just below and install...
In case anyone else has the issue, it was the injectors. The eBay seller told me I was the 14th out of a batch of 20 to complain.
New ones from renparts and we're back to health!
Sounds very familiar, my injectors didn't line up properly either with the little hole and plastic clip bit. The O-Ring on the fuel rail also split when I did it and I replaced it with one from a Halfords kit. I've just gone and changed it for a thicker one to see if it will seal better at that...
It's only about 6 months old, the speed that it turns over is fine it seems. I tried the spare key in case it's the immobiliser or something stupid but no difference.
So I've tried to research this and found nothing conclusive, I'm sure the symptoms will sound familiar to someone.
First instance - engine was hot, went to restart and took a couple of seconds longer than normal. This was followed by a very, very, very lumpy idle for about 3 seconds then it...
Certain aspects of geometry are very sensitive, why else would that have bothered making 182 trophy turini offset the same as normal 182 and not just use 172 cup turini which was an existing part number?
I'm certainly not an expert but I work with experts and I know some things are sensitive...
The offset difference is about 7mm which is potentially significant for some suspension geometry, king pin offset I think.
Having said that, I have done exactly the same and haven't noticed any degradation in handling! I did ask myself the same question and did it anyway but it's fine.
I know what you mean, and I fell for it too. How can you go wrong for that price you're thinking.... They got a little better when the tread wore down but with the thin blocks and soft sidewalls they are terrible laterally. When you feel the weight next to Michelins you realise why they are...
I'd recommend the extra for the Michelins. Rain sport 2 that I had are terrible soft sidewalled tyres that, whilst being ok with longitudinal forces, are absolutely dire laterally. They just buckle under themselves while cornering.
Mine was off the road for a month and 1 injector died. I did get injector fault code to go with it.
I suggest clearing code, swapping injector round (2 and 4 or whatever) and seeing if code follows.
So, there's some play and I've narrowed it down to be the driver's side inner track rod. After searching and reading all I can find, I am no clearer as to what I need.
My car is a 182 with cup pack suspension (full fat).
A friend had one that was too short, he said it was from a diesel or...
Fair enough, it is a good idea having it switchable with the number plate.
Even with the 1cm air will simply go round the front of the cooler. It's the significantly easier path. The cooler will still have some effect but I'd guess at 50% efficient compared to being behind the square grill...
No I'm pretty sure travel is normal, it's one of those things you wouldn't notice in normal driving and even in emergency wouldn't feel the pedal go firm as you'd be slamming the brakes on. I have full assistance until around 0.7g decel which is all you'd use on the road normally.
A question for the more experienced Clio owners on here...
I've got a 182 with Brembo OEM pads all round. Everything is bedded and pedal travel doesn't feel too long. Tyres are good and all calipers sliding free and working properly.
I can brake hard enough to get the ABS to kick in, but the...
Little buggers they are too!!
UPDATE:
New stub axle on, old one very obviously bent. Alignment now looks fine by eye, will get it geo'd ASAP. Drives fine, steering wheel feels straight enough, a tiny bit left hand down but would expect right hand down if rear left was still toeing in. Possible...
Yeah spacer was fitted, everything was 100% before the "incident".
I'm going to pick up some parts tonight including a used disc, if it isn't in good nick I'll get in touch with G172, thanks Martin (?)
Hi Naith, why would the whole rear end need doing if it was just the stub? My plan at the...
Yeah... I think I'll hang it on the garage wall as a reminder of what not to do. Was really smoking and stinking by the time I got back, thinking actually it was dragging from bent stub axle causing over heating and then cracked disc.
I would but only put these ones on last weekend! Barely bedded in lol.
I can't work out if it snapped in the impact or from heat since it was dragging as I limped the car home.
Proper shagged...
Had a sideways incident with a kerb and the rear wheel is toeing in a fair amount. The hub nut had lost torque and the disc fully broken.
It looks like the stub axle is what has bent, does anyone know if that is the known weak point or if the axle itself tends to bend at the same time? It's...
UPDATE:
New thermostat and some coolant - £32.56 from Renault.
Easy enough change, airbox out, three bolts from around housing, let the 1.5 litres of coolant head flood out, swap over thermostats, bolt back up, top up coolant, bleed, run engine and heater until up to temp and keep an eye on...
People laughed at my indicator extension but I've been running with the setup in the link below for a year and it's been great:

Doesn't get the seat further back but does sort the arm/leg ratio out a treat.
They are the same on a 182, but the first one is the only one that is important so what Chip was saying is that if you're going to put an incorrect lambda sensor in don't do it on the pre-cat one.
