Everyone needs to break into the modifying world in something, and normally people's first cars are little 1.0-1.2's and in fact there are still full on show cars that exist that are smaller engined not to mention the whole k series scene in japan with there tiny 600 odd cc engines. To my mind...
1. I hope you're ok, never nice hearing about a crash.
And
2. I can't see why all the sarcastic remarks are necessary, granted it may be a big of a obvious answer question to the most of us but what's wrong with simply saying, you have nothing to worry about regarding the plates and leaving...
Good stuff. To be honest you can pretty much make any induction filter work with your car just would need different sized reducer pipes really. But as long as you're hapy with what you got that's the main thing.
In that case the bmc cda's are held in high regard I believe. And fron what u have read and seen it appears that enclosed induction kits give more power but open ones give more noise...if that helps any?!!
Not actually sure on that front honestly, don't know which would give the better performance result. Perhaps someone else could shed some light on that?
It really depends if you want pure noise or actually want to try and get more performance from it.
Ebay is normally good for finding induction kits, that's where I got mine from. Just type in clio 3 induction kit and browse away :-)
Welcome. Your car looks alright, but 16" I think is a minimum on the mk3 or 17" if big wheels are your style.
Depends if you just want pure noise from the k&n filter or want the try a squeeze a little more power from your engine really. The k&n 57i kit is ok I guess and good for noise but for...

You're car looks fantastic mate, such a good colour too!
Where and how much did you get your sx kit from/for? If you don't mind me asking, as my sx kit has taken a few dings and I want to get it replaced but...
That really long flexi tube is the cold air feed pipe you get with it, I never fitted mine I used to standard one and put the new one on my other halfs car lol.
Its pretty straightforward it took me about 10-15 mins. You have to remove the battery to get the air box out but you get some pretty...
No you have to remove the air box completely to fit it unless you want to just get a performance panel filter which will go inside your normal airbox instead of the normal paper one.

That'll be the same as mine although im sure I paid less for mine a year ago :-/
I'll take a photo tomorrow of it if I remember mine looks more like a squashed cone? The only video I have is of it on the rolling road, need to do another one at some point maybe.
As for gunky oil is it just on the bottom of the oil filler cap? If so is more likly than not just condensation...
The k&n 57i kit I got is is actually labelled up as the mk3 clio 1.6 and from memory was around £60.
There are other air induction kits out there that are better for performance than the 57i such as the bmc cda unit or the ITG maxogens, they are a fair bit more expensive but seem to give much...
Just googled it...14psi = 0.9 so 8-10 psi is around 0.6bar according to google :-)
I haven't actually got mine mapped as yet but will be interesting when if/wjennit.gets done, can't afford to yet but if/when I do I will be more inclined to take the drive and get it custom mapped on the rollers...
According to my phone app I used to have on my iphone with obd wifi connector the boost in mine hovers around 8psi ish then on overboost rises to around 10-11psi (I don't know what that is in Bar)
Intercooler + 172/182 injectors + remap should see you to around 130-140bhp according to the email I got back from RS tuning when I enquired about getting mine done.... although I don't know what gains I'd get from mine because last time it was on the rollers was pushing 123.1 at the fly with no...
So as I understand it, as long as the catch is kept lubricated and moving freely it should never present itself as a problem and be perfectly safe? Or can they fail regardless?
