Re: What have you ordered?
Prepare to spend the rest of your detailing life thinking "this new (insert some product here) is OK, but it's not as good as Zymol".
Or maybe it's just me?
Thanks guys. I wanted to include a step for Black Hole in there, but the weather was turning, so I went straight from the Rejuvenate to the lsp.
Looks OK though. Now I just need to get out and take some proper photos :)
Atofinesse rejuvenate, Autofinesse gloss and Dodo Juice Mellow Yellow.
Used them all on Boxing day (see my winter prep thread) as it was unseasonably warm and (for Ireland) dry.
I wasn't after any correction here, I just wanted to clean it and give it a good coat of wax ahead of the winter.
Process...
Foam - Valet Pro PH neutral
Wheels - Dodo Juice Mellow Yellow
Rinse
2 Bucket Method - Dodo Juice BTBM
Iron X
Clay - Megs Clay with Megs QD
Rinse
Cleanse - Autofinesse...
It depends what it does / what it's for. 15 quid for 845 will be my choice for the winter or the door shuts etc. all year round. For 8 or 9 months of the year 50 to 100 depending on how much cash I've got at the time.
FWIW I think most waxes come in pots that are too big. I want to try this a...
Thanks guys. Didn't realise I was lighting the blue touch paper.... :). From the sounds of it LP is definitely worth a try.
I take it you'd all agree it's best applied with a machine rather than by hand?
I see enough write-ups on here and DW where the author has used IPA to remove oils after...
Also, I've heard people on DW say that LP is quite oily. HD cleanse is a little oily too.
If your cleaner is oily isn't that going to affect the durability of the LSP (Zymol Carbon at the moment).
I like to use a glaze before waxing. Is something like PB's Blackhole going to strip the oil that...
Hi all,
I'm nearly out of HD Cleanse, and I was wondering about saving a few pennies and giving Lime Prime a spin.
I've use HD Cleanse for years, and loved the results, so it's really out of curiosity as I've heard lost of people rave about LP.
Anyone got any experience of both? How do...
For sure. To be honest I wish I'd done the same. There are some great detailers in my area. Paying one £400 a year so that I can then do the maintenance is worth it just for the time it saves let alone the price of the DA + pads + polishes.
Plus, any quality detailer will have experience and...
Sorry for the random thread revival...
I was looking through my manual at the weekend for the tyre pressures on my ph2 172. It seemed to have all the pressures for 1.2's and 1.4's etc, but nothing for the 172. I'm sure I've seen it before because this isn't the first time I've checked the...
I suspect this is the reason that the gearbox makes the car accelerate quicker. Much more of a factor than shaving tenths off the shift time. Wouldn't a gear kit for the standard box achieve much the same result?
For the record I've got nothing against this gearbox, or Ktec. They know their...
P.M.S.L.
I'm using Coli 845 Insulator wax at the moment, after MagpieV6 went on about it for weeks. And I'm definitely going to put more on this weekend. I don't know about anywhere else in the UK, but daan saaarf it's 15 degrees today. Can't be that much colder in Hertfordshire.
I'd say if...
Really? I'm interested to know if you've ever seen one fail. The guys that did mine said it was a waste of money, so I just went for the Aux belt.
Chris
I've not used the Cif that Gally found, but I have been using 3M foaming cleaner recently and it's pretty good.
If you can't get hold of Cif, 3M would be a good alternative.
How have you found the G1? I've got some ready to go. Hopefully this weekend if it's dry.
