Due to the wife expecting our first baby in July, my 172 is making way for a more practical substitute. Don't ask me how but I managed to use my man maths in persuading the wife that the car we need is a new m135i :) Ordered a 5 door a few months ago and finally collecting in a couple of weeks...
Just after confirmation that the obd reader has detected. Car is running very lumpy, under powered, misfiring, had a similar issue before and it turned out to be an injector. The scanner shows 2 faults and reads as follows - p0203 injector circuit/open cylinder 3, single cylinder misfire...
Last winter my car starting sounding like an impreza and power was down, had it plugged in and it came up with an injector fault. Replaced said injector and fault was fixed, car ran fine and light eventually went off dash. This week the same thing has happened, seems to be when we have had a...
Firstly, due to change of circumstances and the need for a practical 5 door car, I'm gutted to be having to sell my 172 flamer after nearly 4 years of thorough enjoyment.
Secondly, this forum has been a pleasure to frequent, although I have been more of a lurker over the years than a heavy...
Just changed battery but haven't got book with code for radio. There is couple of numbers on the cd changer unit underneath seat. On one side it has 82 00 002 656a, other side is c9rn832c10542559. I've put last 4 digits of each code but to no avail, the last number just flashes, I presume it...
In preperation for another undoubted miserable, cold, snowy winter I've been searching for some winter tyres to cope with the chaos it generally causes. My front kumho's are just about on the way out and with the rears not great either I thought it would be a perfect time to replace all four...
Possible selling the flamer next year to make way for some sort of boring saloon but am after some thoughts on the following options when coming to sell. Now i have owned the car coming upto 3 years now and would describe the condition as very good, especially for a 51reg 92k mile car, however...
Both my insurances are up the end of the month and i've managed to secure a great deal on the vx but the 11 year old 172 is working out dearer to ensure! I've tried Adrian Flux and comparison sites on the net and Sheila's Wheels is coming up the cheapest at around £430. Now i know there is...
Like to have a nose at what other members have for sale in the classifieds from time to time and noticed not many ever seem to sell?! Would have thought members cars would be the first to go or do we tend to over price our cars on here? Most of the replies in the for sale section are owners...
My 172 is my everyday car, primarly used for work commuting, going food shopping etc. I have a vx220 which i use purely for the fun of driving, mainly during the summer where i'll have no qualms filling it up with petrol and just driving for the hell of it until the fuel gauge lights up again...
Decided to replace my everyday car last year for something bit more fun to drive as my daily commute had reduced to just 6 miles a day. So the hyundai coupe went and i had my heart set an a 172.
I must admit to being a little concerned when researching about the reliability, running costs etc...
As title just interested really, what kind of outputs the turbo'd/supercharged owners have. Or indeed if you have a naturally aspirated car what mods have been done and power produced? Nothing i plan on doing myself just being nosey.
I've owned my 172 since early this year and am quite proud of the fact it's pretty much as standard as the day it left the factory. Other than the obvious uprated pads/disks/tyres which i guess many would have changed due to them being consumables, how many of you have resisted changing...
I shortly will need to change pads and disks all round, been scouring ebay and one seller is doing mintex disks/pads for £150 all in which i thought was a decent price. This includes the bearings but not the abs rings though.
Has anyone got this set up and what are your thoughts? At the...
Just joined the forum following recommendations from vx220.org who have had a fair few owners of the clio172/182 on there over the years.
Purchased an early clio 172 mark 2 early this year for my everyday car which i've been really impressed with.
My weekend toy is a modified vx220 turbo...
