well i say im a novice but not completely, i am an engineer lol ;)
yeah ive adjusted them now and seems fine
gave them a good test before going anywhere and seem to be working fine, thanks chaps
hmm mine doesnt even have one of those black/reddish dome things, no wonder i couldnt find a sensor up there lol, must be somewhere else on mine, thanks though!
let me know if this works, my CL stopped responding and then the immobiliser stopped working shortly afterwards, all around the time i noticed the sunroof started to leak
would much appreciate a PM with info on where to find the sensor and if a scrap replacement works :)
just changed the brake shoes on the rear of my little 1.4 clio today, absolute pain aswell for a novice like me :( everything seemed to go okay but just taken it for a little drive and it seems like i have to press the brake pedal down alot further than before... have i done something majorly...
40mm apex looks nice on 15" wheels, but not so good on anything bigger in my opinion, but yes, the ride is shockingly bad lol, even with a set of gmax shockers
been wondering about some springs myself recently, looked at those rokkor coilovers on ebay as they are dirt cheap, less than £200 (pikey specials) but im not sure about the fitment on Ph1s :S
The intermittent problem before was that the immobiliser would kick in randomly, sometimes it would go off first time and others it could take 5-10 maybe more turns of they key to get the immobiliser off, this is when I figured out that holding the button on the key would turn the immob off...
thats what i thought which is why i was confused when the fob stopped working but the immobiliser was fine, replaced batter C/locking still didnt work but the immobiliser did, ive been living without C/locking for about a month now but ive only just started getting the immobiliser problems about...
Hey guys, having a problem with my immobiliser on my mk2Ph1 clio 1.4 8v Alize '99. had an intermittent problem with it for a while but i discovered i could get round this by holding the key button down, but just recently this has stopped working and the car is immobilised comepletely.
ive read...
ive just realised that if i hold the button on the key when im turning the ignition on it seems to stop the immobiliser.. imobilising... seems to me that the car is not recognising the key, or there is a dodgey connection on the board in the key :S any ideas on this front?
yeah ive replaced the battery already, no luck there :( ill ask the electrical guy at work to have a look at the chip then ill see where to go from there, is there anyway of maybe bypassing the immobiliser completely? i know this wont fix the central locking problem but itll stop the immob...
hey people, having a problem with my immobiliser and central locking (as you might of guessed from the title) the problem being; my immobiliser keeps on flashing and sometimes i have to faff around for a good 10 minutes flicking the ignitgion on and off, this problem started first, and now my...
Hmm maybe the cable... I think it's all back right, it's only the airbox and the breather pipe, then the throttle bodys just sat there, no bolts no nuts anything just a sort of plastic locator :S I'll have to ask the garage to have a look I think
havnt checked the coil.. im a bit of a novice so, what would i be looking for there, or is that a case of chucking it to a garage.
have actually called my garage up and he suggested that as its been unplugged it might need to 'talk' to the computer again to sort out the idle, that sound plausible?
well its a silly plastic thing so a bit of alcohol, and only a bit because the dirt came off easy. it all looks ok and seems like its working fine, sensors look good too, how much would a new throttle body set up cost me?
its not going to blow up if i run it like this is it? i need to get home lol
ive just now taken off the throttle body and given it a good thorough clean, replaced everything how it was, and now when i turn the engine on its slow to reach normal idle, if it gets there at all, and if i rev the car, the revs stick at around 1.5k-2k :( help?
Right I'll get on that as soon as I've got a spare second and let you know.
I did wonder about the TB actually, I've recently had a problem with that as when I started the car it turned over and fired up but unless I gave it any throttle the revs just dropped off and the car stalled, took it...
clio 1.4 8v alize, 1999
cars been misfiring around (and only around) 2000rpm when accelerating, checked the plugs, looked fine, cleaned em up anyway, leads seem okay, still misfiring, anything else i can check myself before i condemn it to a garage?
thanks in advance for any ideas/advice :)
