Need to get new brakes at the front as the pads are squeaking and the discs are lipping. Are these set of Brembos any good for the price?

Just been to the garage and the mechanic did a quick once over and spotted that I need new springs and shock absorbers at the front. What should I be buying and where from? Not particularly interested in lowering springs. Cheers

After 4.5 years I'm finally getting back into the 182 owners club. On Friday I'll be trading in my Mini Cooper S (worst car I've ever owned) and will be getting a beautiful condition 2004 arctic blue 182 and frankly can't wait to look forward to driving again. That is all. Thank you.:kissingheart:

Listed locally. I'm not sure about buying this kind of thing from a dealer. I mean it's quite a good price and it's very low mileage but they aren't likely to know if it's "full fat" or whatnot or if it's had the cam / aux belts sorted or whether it's been treated well or not. Plus it looks...

Realistically how soon around the 5 year mark do you need to get the cambelt changed? Mine's due round about April but there's no way I'll be able to afford it before summer (got a holiday to save for).... Does it have to be done at exactly 5 years or just some point during the fifth year...

Anyone used this in a 182? My brother in law got me a kit for £90, reckons it'll be ok. I'm not sure though, the only Febi kits I've seen on the web are for Clio 1.2's. :dapprove:

Anyone used this service or anything similar? £259 for the standard cover plan for a 182. Seems pretty reasonable, too. As usual though you never know how good these plans are until you need to claim off them.

What an embarrassing piece of work. I just love how it ends up in a disabled space.

Just fitted a new K&N filter into my 182 and had a bit of trouble getting the lid off (loosened the tightening clip but could not detach it from the top tube) so had to sort of just place the filter as well as I could in the gap and then screw the lid back on. I've no idea if the filter stayed...

After all the faff I had yesterday trying to top up the water bottle I've since discovered that it's got a pretty severe leak from somewhere. No sooner have I finished pouring the water in it's dripping onto the drive. Any ideas on costs of replacement/ fitting?

Do folk like AA/ RAC/ Green Flag charge for call-outs if you have a puncture and no spare tyre? I've heard some say that they don't like people who don't carry spares but I've also heard that if your car doesn't come with one then they don't mind too much.

Do cup packs count as modifications which must be mentioned, or - given that they had their "modifications" done before they left the factory - do you just give your insurers the licence plate number and be done with it?

Hi folks I am sick and tired of sharing a car with my mother (don't laugh) and fully intend to get a 182 soon, be it a full fat Cup Pack or preferably a Trophy. I like going fast.
